Alternate way to Ascend
Agree. Let me pay one of these Lab fanboys some coins to get me all my points. I am not going to do it myself, so if that's the only solution, terrific! Who of you 10 minute or less guys want to make a lot of coins? It's already what people do with Malachi, so why not Izaro? |

I'm for checkpoints but against paying to ascend.It cheapens it for those who have managed to do it.
Checkpoints can just be the area before Izaro where you have your chest.When you log in you will appear at the checkpoint rather than in town. |

You dont need to ascend. And 3x through wont kill you if you want it that bad. Cant see it changing.

" No, I really do feel the need to ascend. My char is now just before killing Malachai on merciless and could really use the extra power. I still could not finish the lab once, because it crashes every time I kill Izaro's third form. And if I open silver/gold/trinket boxes (so I no longer do). I loved my time in the lab, it's really fun to me. But it just doesn't work, my client crashes reliably. And I've tried all the suggested fixes (content file download fresh, --nosound, etc...) So yeah, +1 to an alternative way, though for different reasons. May your maps be bountiful, exile

" What a useless "hurdur I'm so good and I can do it" comment... Actually poeple do not need to play the game at all. Of course for most players ascending is something they really want to do and if they fail too much at it will not try harder but rather not play (seen for serveral poeple I know of). Unlike crafting special enchantments, killing special bosses for special drops or alike (which can give the reward of those sweet OP items to min/max or sell), acending is something availabke in all difficulties and this implies players should really do it. Still I would disagree on a very different way to ascend, but reorganization is really needed in my opinion (dont want the game limited on Life+Enducharges builds from the western side of the tree (see below)). I tried Labyrinth on different characters from western and eastern side of the tree and the difficulty varies by orders of magnitude just by choice of class. Some builds that are able to start mapping/farming Dried Lake Merciless including Voll (tested tanking charged hits) get oneshot at Izaro in Cruel without room for reacting (did the test there too (~0.5 secs in stunlock til dead on ES based char)). While I find doing the Labyrinth itself was fine, having Argus in there was fun too and needed a bit of focused fighting, the Izaro thing to me was purely annoying and disables enjoying POE for me at the moment. Maybe some kind of unlockable checkpoints (special waypoint key or something that can be found in the Laybrinth part before the trial would fit the Labyrinth style) before each Izaro fight would be nice. Using these waypoint keys could for example disable Treasure Key drops and enchanting. This would keep playing the Labyrinth as is now rewarding for more Labyrinth dedicated players. |
