Quitting POE now after the labyrinth

Personally I like the Labyrinth. It's a nice change from the rest of the game. Some say it's long and tedious. Well it is a LABYRINTH! It's meant to be hard. Dafuk did you expect? A straight stroll?

And no. Nobody is forcing you to do it. If you want to Ascend, you better HTFU and complete the challenge.

That said, I attempted twice and both times disco'd from server! :D
I still think they should tie master leveling in with character leveling. The whole set would unlock when you have a character reach level 90 in a league. Master quests have always been one of the most brutally boring and unfun parts of POE, and they get worse and worse with every new league.

I actually really like the labyrinth, but it's clear that it doesn't fit in well with the rest of POE. The gruelingly slow stop-and-go pace of trap maneuvering is not what people sign on for when they come to an ARPG. It would be nice if any non-optional content locked into labyrinths (the Ascendancy classes) were moved somewhere else where people who just want to right click monsters away can get them without the frustration.

I completely understand someone quitting due to these things. One just plain sucks and has since the start, and the other is great (aside from serious balance issues), but not what many POE players want to be doing. Hopefully GGG will be willing to rethink some of the decisions they've made in the near future. I still think POE's a great game, but it suffers from a steady stream of ball dropping.

It's not that it's hard, it's really not. I rushed through it as fast as I could fine.

It's simply not fun.
Sadly, I am joining the group that are leaving Poe because of the labyrinth. I wish to share few suggestions that may remedy present situation.

Leave ascendancy skill points outside of labyrinth reward system.

Allow option that someone could continue from the point of death but introduce ever increasing the penalty for each death?

Make it one time challenge so that achievement count for whole league / account but introduce other juicy rewards for people that enjoy that kind of challenge / fun?

Until something is changed I don't feel like playing despite the fact that I hold PoE in very high regard.

Best wishes to GGG and everyone playing PoE.

Acts and maps is what GGG needs of they wish to expand. Not tedious busy work like masters and labyrinth. We didnt sign up for that.

Masters was a huge reason I stayed standard. After I ascend no way will I ladder and do it again. And I'm 100% sure ascendancy wont reset on patches so really lack of choice but to do all that tedium all over will kill off game to a large part. Bad move GGG.

Git R Dun!

Odd thing to walk away from the game over. If you're not the min-maxer type, skip the lab. If you are the min-maxer type, over level before you go in and the lab is so trivially easy you might spend 30-40 minutes in there over the life of a 200 hr character. You can literally quicksilver/move skill through traps like they aren't there. Someone who's maxing their character out will crush Izaro if they're 10 or so levels above him.

It's also way more time and cost effective to trade for gear with the enchants you want than to farm the enchants yourself - if you dislike running the lab, you're killing two birds with one stone by letting someone else do it.

I get that the labyrinth might not be everyone's cup of tea. That said, it's still a small part of a very large gaming experience, and one that's really not as necessary as a lot of people are claiming.
No matter what you say, Ascendancy points are NOT optional but to maybe a very, very small part of player base. A buddy has more or less quit due to labyrinth shenanigans as well.
[s]only mindless sheep think labyrinth is OK to have in PoE.[/s]
okay nevermind labyrinth, fix dx9 blackscreen instead...
I am quitting the game now too. Maybe if they change the Ascendancy/Labyrinth system I will return.

couldn't be more wrong.... ggg did a great thing adding some other stuff to do into this game. Honestly my first labyrinth felt so epic. those spikes are so scary :D I love a bit of adventure touch to an rpg game other wise it is all about kill and collect loot. You complain about repetitiveness but this is an arpg game... i think you are playing the wrong game.

there are so many other annoying things than these side quests in the game... like 10000 different gems and some of them so useless and pointless or try to 6 link stuff or trading :S

i wont be playing much of this new stuff bc i played this game too much. getting old now.

Scary?! My first run I took 2 insta heal flask and 2 speed flask and just zoomed on through in under 10 mins with no care in the world, the traps might as well not of been there at all! Which is not something you want to hear, or should be said about something after it's creation! In my eyes it was a lot of wasted time, on something no one "at least that I saw" was asking for! Not to mention like many others are saying it doesn't fit into a game of this type!

I would of rather them put their time into a another act, more maps, more unique maps, more interesting high end unique's, skills, improvements, etc...

And I also don't like the way the enchants are handed out, nor the fact there is no way to remove them! For helm enchants I would of created 5 variations for each skill, then categorized them by caster, melee, and ranged attack, and then one other category for stuff that may not fit into those 3, and allowed the player to decide which category they would like to play rng with! Still makes it hard to obtain, but not full on rng! You would still have to grind to get the exact one you wanted, but you have a higher chance at getting one that at least works for something you got in a fair amount of time!

Another thing I would of done is put the points after the 2nd encounter and then made the final encounter buffed to the level of reg atziri and created a set of unquie's that specifically drops off him! Gives high level players the drive to actually do the place other than the mother of all speed grinding for enchantments. And then they could of created an uber version via fragments like they did atzri....

SO many things could of been done to make this odd thing work, it's like they just tossed it together with no thought...I honestly think they lack a visionary, a person that can sit and think and really take something above and beyond!

Also thinking about uninstalling. Tried Labyrinth a bit on different characters, really disliked it and accordingly I really dislike a lot that the relevant new content (class points) is gated like that.

Actually I would prolly even like the Labyrinth if it was not tied to upgrading my skilltree but only about item upgrades and good drops.

EDIT:
Did one more Labyrinth on SSC to ascend a witch and as expected it was just boring, got my to Occultist, played 5 min after that but was so discouraged by the time needed to run the lab, that I Alt-F4ed. Guess it is really time to go for me.
