[2.5 Video Guide] Beginner's Earthquake, Tanky/High DPS Build Guide! [HC/SC Viable]

Hey Lifting,

thanks for your great guide, build and videos. they helped me alot to come back to poe after a longer break. EQ is as awesome as you say in your videos. i love it. it's kinda melee with the potential to get range dmg done.

now on cruel labyrinth and merc sometimes i got in some trouble, the build feels lil bit squichy (izaro atleast). i thought if i can get the 4th ascendency points for the fortitude dmg reduction it would be easier. so i tried the labyrinth (over leveled) on 57, 59, 61 (my current level). i got ripped, raped, and just destroyed. in another video about the labyrinth you were talking about you NEED a solo dps gem/build/spec. could you give me an example? hope my account is visable. my EQ Champion is Zeroys (any help very much appreciated)

i have 2 short questions about the skilltree:

why no
Lust for Carnage (LifeLeech) with 4 additional skillpoints
Path of the Warrior (12%physical, 10 armor 20 strength)

thx in advance.

keep nurding!

I've gone up to t10 maps and haven't had a need for a single target dps skill, which is why I don't run one. Atziri died in like 20-25 total EQ's (most of the fight was spent running around). Maybe it gets harder in the t12+ range, but I can always just swap in Conc. I think because the build just naturally doesn't have a lot of requirements, you're pretty much left with a potential 4-6 link that you can do whatever you want with it.

does Increased Melee Damage good for this build?
does the aftershock scale with that?

My jewel affix list from earlier in the thread. Let me know if I missed something!

5-7 % Maximum Life
14-16 % Increased Physical Damage
14-16 % Increased Physical Damage with Maces
12-14 % Increased Physical Damage with Two Handed Melee Weapons
10-12 % Increased Area Damage
10-12 % Increased Melee Damage
8-10 % Increased Damage

Attack speed is pretty important because of composite damage and very slow default swings.
I'd say the best jewel would be 7% life 8% attack speed with maces 12% aread and 16% physical

But you can't roll that because of prefix system, so it goes in terms of what will give the
best outcome, life always first, then attack speed, then increased damage

life + intellect and 2 damage stats, 1 of which is attack speed is best I think

If you are using a Lightning Coil (and especially when you use an Essence Worm as well (to run Hatred, Herald of Fire and Blasphemy-Warlord's Mark), getting lightning resistance on your jewels is an immense stress-reliever for the remainder of your gear. If not, you have to get high lightning resists on everything else.

Lust is four skill points and once you have sufficient and dps, you leech plenty already. There are so many better choices for 4 skill points.

Path of the Warrior is a decent option, but it doesn't lead anywhere. I have specced it a few times, only to unspec it again to get to a more powerful node earlier. Planning to make it permanent somewhere on level 90+

thats right. the 4 skillpoints are better placed anywhere else.

Just saw that there is a Diamond Skin waiting for me to help with merciless difficulty. Maybe its a good suggestion for start merciless in the guide as you did with the Int+Dex nodes? Easy to respecc them but very efficient for merciless if you didn't plan ahead with your gear.

Attack speed is not really that great without helmet enchant - increases tooltip DPS a lot, but you cant really use weapon that fast. But as long as you can squeeze aftershock pause between two hits, its best stat of course, because of the slow weapon we all use.

So BiS jewell will be something like:
7% life
8% attack speed with maces
and two of dmg affecting suffixes - melee damage, area damage, attack/cast speed, increased damage

i have just soloed tier 14 (conservatory) map with 30% increased dmg, ele weakness and double onslaught mods. the only thing that caused me problems was a vaal boss who did really huge dmg with its laser beams coupled with 60% attack/cast speed from map mods forced me to tp out like 3 times from the battle to not lose XP.

but was worth it, he dropped this baby:
.
"How come only evil forces were released?" - "Because there are no good forces."
"So, then. You don't believe that there is a God." - "There was a god."
"Well, then. Where is he now?" - "I killed him," said Kane.

I beat both all 3 labyrinths at appropriate levels. If you are struggling with Izaro make sure you are reading the tooltips of the encounter and not doing the "hard mode" version. Other than that loading up on endurance charges and stone golem helps with traps. I am sure you will get it just takes a bit of practice!

Yeah as one of the many that will never get the earthquake less duration helm enchant I am already attacking way too quickly to keep up with aftershocks. So attack speed is definitely not the best way to scale my DPS.

I think what I am going for with jewels is:

Prefix
Champion's (12 to 14)% increased Physical Damage with Two Handed Melee Weapons
Brutal (14 to 16)% increased Physical Damage with Maces
Sharpened (14 to 16)% increased Physical Damage
Vivid (5 to 7)% increased maximum Life

Suffix
of Blasting (10 to 12)% increased Area Damage
of Combat (10 to 12)% increased Melee Damage
of Wounding (8 to 10)% increased Damage

So in theory best for me would be

7% Max Life
Either 16% Physical or 16% Physical damage with maces
12% Area Damage
12% Increased Melee Damage
