I think everyone on this thread needs to calm down a bit.
Yes, your items have de-valued (on standard... seriously who gives a damn).
Yes, your old builds need some tweaking / re-thinking because of the crit nerf.
No, this won't break the game.
I look forward to playing the game with all the new changes every time they make them because in the end it winds up being more fun because I try new things and don't get stuck in my ways. Change is good! Nothing worse than a static game where the 'meta' (i hate that word) never changes.
Item changes are brilliant in that respect, as it means some other unique items will be seen as valuable. This means you'll consider different uniques that highlight a different aspect of your gameplay and may cause your build to evolve into something new!
Tl:dr
Stop whining, and enjoy the goddamn changes.

so some player think crit multi is additive ? massive crit item nerf !
so dumb they still probably gonna get the calculation wrong anyway ...
They couldn't nerf legacy items arbitrarily. They couldn't say, all legacy crit multiplier mods have their crit multiplier value reduced for example by 33%. This way they exploit the word change to make a sneaky nerf that is easier to pass.
However, I am still not sure if nerfing the legacy items is the whole story. What about jewels? Surely jewels didn't have any legacy variants so why do i have to divine my jewels also risking losing their good role?
I think people at GGG are starting to lose it lately, working hard is good but maybe they need to cool of a bit to give themselves the chance to think more clearly. At this rate they are begging to slowly go out of business.
I mean if this was a nerf to critical multiplier in general, people would complain but there might have been some reasons. Nerfing ONLY existing items while new items that drop from now one will be like before makes no sense at all.
And for those saying that they are fighting RMT this way. They probably making it worse. They give motivation for people to give even more real money to buy the newly crafted amulet that has the good mods, while people who actually struggled for a long time to acquire such gear with a legit way, the are losing hope, there is no way to spend another year or two to buy the same gear again, only to lose it again later by a future nerf.
EDIT: IT seems I have misundertood the changes, thanks Snorkle_uk for pointing this out

i found an easier way
stop playing PoE and start Black Desert
better combat, better engine, better devs, better graphics, better gameplay
win/win situation
new way to spend cash without needing to worry about some crazy as fuck devs doing whatever they please and an ignorant community (you as expamle) which hypes everything GGG ever does.
you all seem like some smurf forum accounts from chris.

Hi all . Almost 1 year grind = 0 now . All legacy what i buy for my crit ranger can be down if i understand good . GGG don't hit 10 players who have huge currency , he hit 30-40 % of players how try grind some end gear and this was 1 long grind . Why i loose 1 year ? Was 1 big mistake with this updates . Must put down only mirror drop and stop with this because now they hit too many players . Mirror its 1 mistake not eternal . Now we loose all mods if we try divine 1 item ...Idk what to say but they think something when they do this . I hope all are good because they want improve game for all players but must think for some cheap build end game viable too . They destroy many years for middle players who grind 1-2 gear . Give us something back please .
[Spelling corrected]
The game can't stay static for years just because you're slow at farming. most other people will lose interest. And there are plenty viable cheap builds right now that will still work next patch. You just need to explore and not be afraid to create a 'test' character that might not work. Alternatively, test out your builds on standard with the passive reset.
I get what you're saying but in the end, the game needs to have significant changes to remain interesting to players. And the crit changes affect 95% of the community since crit has been almost the only viable option for fast clear speed builds for a long time. Crit nerf encourages alternative builds to emerge and we might see some extremely creative stuff come out from this.

as example my 50/50 maligs. which are now clearly worth less.
my mirror ammy which now loses a shitton of worth.
nope nope nope, ur fine mate, the malis and the amulet are still in exactly the same place they were before, bis legacy with rolls just as far beyond the new versions as they are now. This is a list of all the items that are going to change and will need divined...
"
Divine Orbs are required to update the following to their new values: All craftable Jewel mods which grant Critical Strike Multiplier, Facebreaker, Marylene's Fallacy, Fragment of Eternity (the Descent: Champions Unique), Bino's Kitchen Knife, Romira's Banquet, Shadows and Dust, Ungil's Harmony, Eclipse Solaris, Death's Harp, Mortem Morsu, The Goddess Scorned and Abyssus.
your malis will change to 50% additional crit multi, the new versions will change to 35% additional crit multi. Same with ur multi ammy, it will change to 70% additional multi, the new top roll is 38% additional multi. Youre 32% multiplier over the current top roll, ull be 32% over the top roll come patch day.

this is a nerf to multi in general. The only items that will be buffed to stay the way they were before are the specific uniques they mentioned and rare crit multi jewels. None of this legacy stuff and needing divines applies to rare gear with a crit multi suffix, if you have t1 multi on a rare right now it will change to exactly what t1 multi on a rare dropped after the patch will be.
Its the same as any legacy unique situation where values are changed. Sometimes the old ones are better, sometimes theyre worse.

Then go? You seem to spend a lot of time complaining about a game you no longer play rather than playing this amazing new perfect game you found.

I think you are right, I was confused. So they are effectively nerfing everything except some uniques that are mentioned and the rare jewels?
Still though i don't see why you need to spend divines to fix existing jewels, considering that the new ones will be better without a divine. From ther other hand the new ones will effectively be better than before if it is like this so they will be more expensive so spending a divine might be to make it more fair because you bought it cheaper. But this is the case for everything in poe, items lose or gain value, I don't see why jewels and some uniques should be treated special in that regard.
