there are a few thing you can do.. use a shield with spell block: rathpit. If you can't afford that, some cheap 1-2c ones: Sentari's Answer, Saffell's. ( you'll lose spell damage. But dmg is no use if you're dead)
use some defensive flasks : rumy
Use a defensive curse like Enfeeble or Temp chains.
OR a defensive aura instead of ToL : arctic armor
if you don't have max res.. then get them.

Once you get better level and gear, then you can swap the gems for more offensive approach.

Blade Vortex is not an attack - therefore it won't proc the 30% chance to bleed with attacks. Also the difference between 40% chance to poison and 100% chance to poison is 16 stacks of poison versus 40 stacks of poison over 2 seconds, that's quite a lot less damage.

This is how I like to apply the second curse:Using CwDT + BV + CoH + Curse - you have a stack of blades that lasts 9.5 seconds to apply the curse on hit, whereas if you use Shock Nova and Cold Snap it's only a single use curse requiring you to take damage more than once every 9 seconds.

Your gear looks okay - one of your rings could use HP and you can get a shield with 80+ HP for cheap, you have good life for you level though. The biggest defensive boost is Rumi's Concoction along with the "Alchemist" notable passive which gives you a total of 30% flask effectiveness. They are still 30c+ at the moment so until you can afford one you can use a Basalt or Jade flask instead of your mana flask.

Seeing as you aren't using Whirling Blades you can stop using Blood Rage if you want. You aura's seem to be Blasphemy + Warlord's Mark and Herald of Ash? I find Hatred to be good for a defensive layer as well, it freezes, shatters and chills enemies which can help in some situations. So swap to using Blasphemy + Warlord's Mark and Hatred, if you really want defence instead of offence you could use Grace or Arctic Armour instead of Hatred as well.

oh .. i should probably pay more attention. missed the "attacks". I see now why the gem is mandatory. Even so, since we do not use any attack then maim will never proc?

I was wondering why people do use BV in Cwdt.. didn't think about the duration and the fact that it basically gives you almost perm uptime. That makes sens. Thanks.

I was planning on using Shield Charge once I swapped to CI because the 30% skill duration is worth getting from Noxious Strikes - maiming should be easy enough to proc because mobs will be poison from BV already, I should really be using it now as well but I'm too lazy to swap whirling blades out.

I seem to have a hard time against anything single target or anything hard hitting.

I tried getting somewhat similar stuff to your uber lab but certain bosses still will kill me, also died during first phase of uber lab after getting two shotted, but I suppose that was my fault since I could have just not gotten hit.

Have divinarus because I found it, figured it'd do decently for now.

Bosses are definitely my biggest issue, they kill me incredibly fast and I just can't leech fast enough, flasking only works for a bit until I die anyways.

You have good gear, swapping to the Surgeon's Basalt flask is a good idea - it means you can generate charges for it during long encounters.

I notice you are using the Item Rarity gem, you can swap that for Controlled Destruction for more damage and against bosses you can use Conc Effect instead of AoE - that should speed up the fight and give more leech. You also have the Assassinate path, but using Cospri's you want to get the Toxic Delivery Path for the 100% more poison damage.

You also have +1 Curse from Cospri's so you should get a 4L setup to curse with CwDT (lvl 1) + BV (lvl 1) + Curse on Hit (lvl 20) + Enfeeble (20/20), you can also swap in Vulnerability if you want damage instead of enfeeble.

The single best skill against bosses is Decoy Totem, so you should get one and put it in a spare socket. Maybe put Whirling Blades into you Dagger, drop Vaal Discipline and then chrom your gloves for CoH setup (2BRG - about 63 chroms).

Also for Uber Lab you can drop Hatred and run Blasphemy + Warlords + Enfeeble to have curses up 100%.

I use BV as soon as I get it for bosses and some rares, but I don't use it for pack clearing until about level 60-70 when I have the duration nodes and good AoE, before that you can use Bladefall or EK for pack clearing.

MF 6L: Blade Vortex + Spell Echo + AoE + Item Rarity + Controlled Destruction + Added Fire.

For bosses you replace the AoE gem with Conc Effect for more damage.

these 3 atziri guards kill me in less than a sec, i managed to kill only one...
to be honest never expected it will be that difficult :S

Do you have some form of spell block for the fire thorns dude? I can show you on stream what I do. Using Saffell's Frame is great if you can't afford Rathpith, although Rumi's Concoction does help a bunch as well.
