This new league reads out as awesome but will the nerflings make it another league of droll super grinding with un-balanced creatures? How much gold will we acquire each time? Will gold drop from other places?, IE: the zillions of empty pots and barrels could have coins finally?, it feels at times more like path of empty broken crockery.

Well either way it will be cool to see.

Yes but this time they made them simply too hard. Or too expensive, that is. I'm not that pro player but in the Flashback event I managed to complete all challenges (only one I needed help).
Some examples of Talisman madness:
- defeating 80+ Rigwald: I've never had a map drop above tier 11 (even in standard) = pay for it;
- clearing twinned maps: see above;
- identifying unique items (new ones, very rare ones, and Rigwald ones): you basically need to trade for them = pay very much for every single item;
- redeeming sets of divination cards: while single cards may not cost much, you need to buy a whole bunch of them;
- killing the Avatar of Thunder: I've never found even one of those staves needed for the map recipe, fortunately you can only pay for the kill;
- vendor recipes: see above;
and so on...

Taking them individually, they're not so expensive... But if you take them as a whole, you see it's very hard to complete each of them. I couldn't afford them even on standard with 3 whole years worth of savings.

While I agree that a some challenges are better just to spend some chaos or exalted, I disagree with the list you made:
-Rigwald 80? not that difficult to get. If you didn't get tier 11 maps, probably you are doing something wrong in mapping.
-Clearing twinned maps: see above. I did all twinned clearings by myself, I got 2 or 3 t15 map drops. I didn't bought any map. For the unique bosses I needed help in the t15 though.
-identifying unique items: new ones and very rare ones, I agree, it is just stupidity. Rigwald ones, at first I thought that would be ridiculous, but after GGG disclose the way to get them (based on rigwald level), it was easy (I got them by going 5 times to Rigwald, probably got some luck).
-Divination cards, I agree with you. At least GGG at half of the league made a new card of 10. Without that, 99% of the people would not do this one.
-Killing the Avatar of Thunder, I agree with you, since to get the map we need the uniques that simply don't drop.
-Vendor recipes, yes, ridiculous achievement, even more when you need to get a soul taker just to get rid of it.
I would add on your list the fully level zana, that is not fun at all. People just go global 820, do 6 zana as fast as possible (if no leecher in party). No fun at all.

I think challenges should be more difficult and shouldn't be the same in HC and SC. I did all in SC, and there was people doing it in HC, I think they deserved much more praise and rewards than me.
