Strangest question I have heard thus far. You are probably referring to names. Your ability to create an extra character will remain and never get stolen. If you have not used a character in over a year and someone else tries to create a character with the name of yours, you might have to rename your character once you use it again. Not looking at a character for over a year does seem quite foreign to me though. I actually would not mind the option to get character renames, and the only way to achieve this currently is to not use the character for a year and let a buddy create a character with the same name ;-)

Relax though. None of your purchases will ever get stolen (unless you give someone access to your account)

I believe your character names are protected just by keeping your account active. In other words, you don't have to actually load up each and every character, just log into your account with any character regularly.
