How will Ambush (100% more crit chance vs full life) interact with crit snapshotting?
Skills that hit multiple times per use (spells with echo, attacks with multistrike, lightning tendrils, double strike) get a crit rolled once and then all their hits are crits or non-crits.
Ambush gives 100% more CC against enemies on full life. What happens with lightning tendrils when I simultaneouslly hit two mobs, one is on full life, the other is on 80%? Will crits be rolled individuall per monster AND THEN snapshot individually for each monster, or will crit be checked for each hit, so only my first hit for each full life monster will be 100% more? If crits will be rolled per hit, will that be the way it's done with all skills even without Ambush from now on? Crit is rolled once, when activating the Skill.
The crit threshold is checked per Hit. There is no snapshotting. Example: 20% Crit Chance on Lightning Tendrils. Two enemies: A is on Full Life, B is not but is Cursed with Assassin's Mark (+10%). Cast Tendrils, roll a 28. First hit resolves: Base Crit threshold is 20. Ambush doubles it (Full Life enemy): 20 * 2 = 40. 28 is below 40 -> it's a Crit. Enemy B is not on Full Life, but AssMark increases its Crit threshold instead: 20 + 10 = 30 28 is below 30 -> also a Crit. The second Hit still uses the same Crit roll: 28. Enemy A is no longer on Full Life: its Crit treshold lies at 20 now. 35 is above 20 -> no Crit. Enemy B goes unchanged: 28 is below 30 -> still a Crit. |

i would think that it would be the same as it is now, except the 100% more chance on full life applies.
so the first of three hits on multistrike will benfefit from that but the others won't. seems to me that this would be independent of whatever rolls |

AssMark thread. Strictly technically, it's a subtractive process, but I've always explained it the way I do and now it's firmly stuck. Functionally the same idea, just different numbers. It just feels really weird to me to add to Crit Chance, but subtract from the threshold, so I invert the threshold :P Bad habit.

" Does this apply to a chain gmp projectile like LA? Is crit always rolled per hit? I could of sworn I had heared every hit would crit or not crit depending on initial roll. IGN: Arlianth

Think it applies to everything. And yes LA will either all be crits or non-crits against normal monsters without any curses/modifiers. I believe accuracy is still checked multiple times to confirm each hit's crit. So you can both crit and not crit a monster in a chain-gmp scenario because of accuracy.
However I believe EK would be either all crits or non-crits in a chain scenario with no assassin's mark involved. All my builds /view-thread/1430399 T14 'real' clearspeed challenge /1642265 Last edited by MatrixFactor#3574 on Feb 19, 2016, 1:58:36 PM

@Nephalim
crit is rolled only once per action, but the individual crits are confirmed on the monster side. It can be negated due to fail of second accuracy/evasion roll or turn non-crits to crits using ass mark or this new modifiers for example your crit chance is 50%, you roll 30 so your whole action hits will come as non-crits. but when the enemies hit are on full life, it gets 60 and hit becomes crit IGN: Eric_Lindros CET: Timezone Last edited by Ludvator#6587 on Feb 19, 2016, 1:57:10 PM
