[2.4] CI CoC Discharge by Rico (barely reanimated)
" Hey m8, but that was posted several months ago... when 2.3 was released. As far as 2.4 changes goes - yes the nerf hammer is really heavy this time. But I wont RIP the build... just yet. After some initial 2.4 testing I'll update. EDIT: I've run some numbers, if my calculations are correct the nerfed build will be doing overall 32% LESS DPS. Everything else stays preaty much the same. So I wont say yet that this alone is enough to consider build to be RIP. I'll report back after 2.4 hits the ground. So yeah. after some number crunching and brain activity I think I can make CoC CI work quite good in 2.4 scenario.
I'll report back after I do some testing when 2.4 goes live. EDIT: This is what I'm planning to do (anyone with acces to Death's Door boots can help me test this setup): So below is the new 2.4 passive skill three: The differences between 2.3 are: Losses: - 30 less str (Death's Door boots solves that) - 25% less mana regen (not needed because there will be less aps) - 14 max to ES (irrelevant) - 6% less attack speed (not needed) - one less jevel socket (unsocket any attack speed jevel you have) Gains: + 42% spell dmg increase + 1 maximum power charge Now gear changes: Maligaros -> Facebrakers for a: -50% chance to crit (solved with 1 additional power charge) -5% attack speed (not needed) -34% crig multi + gained 90% crit multi Rainbostrides -> Death's Door for a: - ~35 max to es +1 max endu charge + str + (and bleeding immunity!) Overall (and my numbers are 99% correct) with those changes build will be doing only 16% less DPS in total and have a tiny bit less ES compared to the 2.3 version. On the other hand it will be much more consistent (100% chance to trigger on crit) and less FPS heavy. So less blasts but each one of them with much greater power (21k -> 33.5k per Discharge). Build in 2.3 was doing: 21k per Discharge @ maximum of 3.7 blasts / s = 77k before EE and ~ 116k after EE (not counting shocks and burning). Build in 2.4 will be doing: 33.5k per Discharge @ maximum of 2 blasts / s = 67k before EE and ~ 100k after EE (not counting shocks and burning). Rico, I might be right if I say that your making ALOT of ppl happy. I'm just dropping a tear right now because I rly felt Fakener won't be a thing anymore, the reason why I started playing PoE isn't a thing anymore. That's how I felt even a long time before the patchnotes came out. But now it does feel like meeting someone who was actually dead already. No joke.
I already mentioned that I put all my faith and hope into you. Well because you know what your doing and your guides, both for Mjölner and this one, were the first ones I saw, read and followed. And as I also already stated in the other thread, IF Mjölner/Fakener will survive 2.4 I'm pretty sure that they will last forever...well untill the servers goes down forever. Now I guess I wasn't wrong putting that much into you (hehe) because your true god and savior of fucking Path of Exile. Prais RicoKGB! Thanks! |

i feel like there is alot of people scrambling to "make CoC disch good enough for 2.4" now if you want to resuscitate somethings thats dead. thats fine, thats completely up to you. . . .
the reality is CoC is dead ONLY because of its 500 milisecond cooldown. . . . im not saying that its impossible to clear maps as CoC in 2.4? no im not saying that. . . but I can not overlook the nerf. . . - i believe rico has done great work for CoC CI discharge, thats amazing. . . - i believe rico is trying desperately to save his build. . . . - i will be moving on to a new build - i will point and laugh and encourage others to point and laugh at people using CoC in 2.4 if you want to continue playing CoC, thats fine. Thats up to you. . . . |

" I dont do things that are "desperately". 500ms is a hard nerf to many CoC builds, but not to this one. It wasnt doing like bazylions CoC triggers per secound before. It was 2.7 Discharges / s on average and 3.7 /s at its max (assuming 3 aps cyclone that everyone was able to reach with it). So going down from 2.7 average to 2 average (which will be its max aswell) is not that big of a deal. You're a disbeliever :) And what can I allready say, that after my changes build is working great in 2.4. Proof of concept is uploading right now... " One thing that you dont need anymore is a high attack speed on your dagger, now you only need just above 2 aps with the cyclone. However vagan mod is still must have imo, especially vs bossed you need to be sure you are maximisng your chance to trigger to make effective use of that 500ms cooldown.
