I wonder what the internal cooldown is if its the same as before then mjolner is going to be awesome but if it's 500ms like CoC then that would suck.

Exactly. That f_ing cooldown is the most important thing here :)

GGG: WE NEED INFO ON THAT!

Also theres one more intresting info that was added recently in the patch notes:

"
Triggered Skill Improvements:
These items and skills also have cooldowns which limit how often a skill is cast.
These cooldowns apply per-triggered-skill, rather than applying to the trigger gem itself.

This is mentioned for For Cast on Critical Strike, Cast on Melee Kill, Mjölner and Cospri's Malice.

So I think theres a COOLDOWN for Mjolner, and if it works the same way with gems and unique items which triggers spells, than conclusion will be:

Double discharge setup in single Mjolner, each triggered Discharge gem has its own cooldown timer.

Double wield Mjolner with 2x Discharge in each, anyone ? :P

I even have a proper name for it: QUAD DISCHARGE BUTT DISINTEGRATHOR.

As far as I know the spell cooldown will be shared with same linked spells like cwdt so that would mean that if you have 2 discharges in mjolner they would share the internal cd.

The internal cooldown will determinate what links will be the best in mjolner if it's the way it was before ( really short ) then 1 spell probably discharge with 2 support gems might be the best.

I'm not entirely convinced that this will be the thing in the dual wield scenario.

This will be like having two separate CWDT setups ajt?

Quad discharge might not work for the reason you've posted (and it was rather a joke from my side) but two separate Discharge setups might work.

So that need to be tested :)

Of course loosing a shield might be a "no go" for a LL version of the build.

Oh...

If thats the case and "These cooldowns apply per-triggered-skill" is meant to be understood in such a way than thats a bad news really.

Now it all depends on how long this cooldown will be.

Hope you're right. I'm pissed at GGG over this. I don't understand why a build which relies on multiple legacy chase uniques to be good needed a nerf when the problem was essentially a totally unrelated gem (CoC).

At 100% proc chance, perhaps socketing Controlled Destruction / Lightning Penetration / Discharge will be enough for the build to be able to clear T15/T16 maps. I'm still skeptical though.

tackle70 here's a calculation that I've done in my build thread (I've adjusted it for a Rainbownuke version below):

Current 2.3 build provides (feel free to correct me if I fuck something up):

1 (accuracy) * 0.5 (leg Mjolner trigger chance) * 1 (Discharge) * 6 (aps) * 3 (minimal no of hits from MS) = 9 discharges per secound on average vs Boss.

Now, 2.4 build will provide:

1 (accuracy) * 1 (boosted new Mjolner trigger chance) * 1 (Discharge) * 6 (aps) * 3 (minimal no of hits from MS) = 18 bringed down to 10 by 100ms cooldown discharges per secound (so theres no need to invest that much in attack speed).

Is it just me or we actualy GAINED 10% more DPS from this change?

Now the only things that will lower the DPS of this build version will be:

- Discharge 35% nerf when triggered
- Arc and Discharge wont trigger together

Leaving Arc alone, this will bring in total 35% less - 10% more = 25% less DPS.

And it's even better for those of us who don't have a legacy Mjölner.

With 100% proc rate and 100 ms cooldown, I think it's going to need some testing. My instinct is that two supports + discharge is going to be better than one support + Arc + Discharge just because of how the mechanics work but I don't know.

I DO think that the build will still be viable with 100% proc rate - that is a HUGE buff because it's not just numeric but also fundamentally mechanical to how the build generates and expends charges.

This test you must.
