Here is my gear. I am at 10.8k dps with auras at lvl 70, running every aura except for ASM, how can i improve my dps to reach 88k?

More levels, spell damage on shield, 20/20 gems, 6l link shavs vs 5l. Also jewels play a decent chunk in dps you didn't list them but that's another area you might want to focus on. It all adds up.

Few questions from a fairly new player. Currently levelling an Assassin Shockwave Totem build and am looking into a fun meleeish alt to play.

Firstly, how does this version of BV compare to the others? Like liftingnerds and pohx?


Secondly how does this build fair up against say... Bladefall trapped?

I tried a bit of BV whilst playing my Assassin and obviously the damage is great however I had to recast every 2 seconds to keep it up hahaha.

What do you think of going Assassin for the build? I was messing around with the planner and threw together this [Level 85 tree].


I decided to forego Haste aura in favor of running a blasphemied Assassin's Mark, which is why I rerouted some points to gain more cast speed on the tree in a slight compensation for this decision.

Practical Application is taken as, with Assassin, there is no other way for stun immunity/avoidance without Eye of Chayula or Lioneye's Paws, which I also wish to forego.

Overall the build loses roughly 400~ ES with the loss of Occultist's 100 flat ES, and 4% less ES gained from the tree and ascendancy at 85.


The level 100 tree I envision looking like This

I wanted to ask your opinion, as though I feel it's a solid tree, most times my ideas don't fully pan out like I expect them to.

Hi xigtek,

The trees look quite similar to stuff I was testing on my shadow recently. It's a solid choice and TBH can rival witch for budget options, but scion still reigns supreme for high end.

In your 85 tree, I'd drop the starting witch node (mana regen) for shaper (more mana regen) for the same passive point investment. The +14 mana doesn't out weight the shaper node regen difference.Other than that looks solid to me.

I found shadow to be able to crit cap without issue, and felt quite smooth. It was lacking DPS vs scion, tooltip and "feel" both reflected it.

The only real reason why I haven't added a Shadow tree and write up yet is I am still testing a couple options with it. Your tree and experience should rival that of Witch class.

A good point on the Shaper node. Was not even thinking about having the Witch starter node, slipped my mind while fiddling with the tree. Thank you. :)

EDIT: I will also admit that the only reason for pathing off Trickery, rather than Coldhearted Calculation, was purely to avoid the Power Charge-Triangle. OCD wins again.

I'll keep you updated on how it works out at higher levels. I enjoyed watching the build on your stream, and was glad to see this patch that budget versions had opened up.

I'll be playing it on a rather low investment, with the items I have available being what I've had drop - both actual item, and currency orbs to buy from other players. (So not completely self found.) Total investment would be about 6~ Ex, if one were to buy it straight up - but my Shavs was dropped and self-five linked, so I invested only about 2.5 actual exalts into it.




The life on one of those Sapphire Rings is because I hadn't gotten around to replacing it yet for the build specifically. Was a self-craft for another character, and covered my resists pretty well.

Just a heads up guys on perandus.

I was wondering while looking at the dagger, it's better to have a 90% spell dmg or 60-70% spell damage and 50 elemental dmg on spell ?

Main things that stuck out are none of your jewels are 4 stat, some are barely a 2 stat for the build. Your blade vortex and controlled destruction are not 20/20. Even though that is one nice looking shield, it's lacking spell damage which is a nice chunk of DPS.


All of that combined adds up. 36k with conc is decent for a temp league, shoot for 40k. Even at your current tooltip you should be mowing down everything in sight without an issue.
