" You want to use Increased critical strike gem. You want to be critting as much as possible for flask charge generation, and damage. We invest so much into crit multi, that it's inneficient to have low crit chance. Empower 4 is nice if you have really nice crit gear/jewels etc. |

" I currently use inc duraion and inc crits and swap out the duration for empower at bosses. This is only an option if you can sustain 20 stacks without spellecho ofc. |

" No, you don't. For example lvl 21 Blood Magic + lvl 3 Enlighten + Haste/Hatred + Herald of Ice/Ash allows you to put a big Aura on life. You can then run the rest on lvl 3 Enlightens on Mana. This costs you an additional lvl 3 Enlighten gem and 1 gem slot (remove Golem) though! So lvl 4 Enlighten are of course "best in slot" but the build is very well possible without them! There was no progress in the build since then, while a slightly different tree and gem use is obviously better now after BV was changed. |

I use a 5ex dagger, non enchanted helm, decent jewelry but nothing mirrored. SURE OP! There's countless people running around in essence right now with better gear than me. Everyone feels the need to link me their OP bv items, I've seen the stuff existing over there. It's quite rude, claiming I don't care about optimizing, no matter how you slice it. Because I don't answer a single question about force shaper I'm deemed not to care about optimizing the build since 2.2. Wow. Because I don't share some bloodmagic setup I dislike means I don't care? Comments like these make me wonder why I spend the time to maintain this guide for 9 months. Answer the countless questions, and sacrifice my free time between two jobs. Just the one question...mathematically Force Shaper wheel is better than throatseeker. Why you pick throatseeker over it? :D or is my math wrong which could probably be ;) |

Wondering if I could get some assistance with this build....going to be a bit different though.
I am a level 89 scion in essence softcore....and I found this build and wanted to do it, so I took the ascendancy passives to start from the witch node. I picked the occultist ascenancy and the pathfinder from the rangers tree. I have plenty of dps and ES but I keep getting one hit by the smallest shit....was doing uber atziri earlier and one blue guy hit me for 8.7k es. I have all the right gear, running all auras with enlighten 4's, skyforths, shavs, all the stuff. What am I doing wrong? " why don't you use a cast when damage taken setup to start off with some def? I play as pathfinder and only have 7,6k es and can almost tank anything...if you run a vessel of vinktar always use an anti shock flask with it if you might not do that already...beeing shocked is actually a big deal...
