Those are both lovely helmets!

I'm currently a bit disappointed with my damage, and wondering what the best upgrade would be.

If someone could take a look at my gear, I'd greatly appreciate it.


I'm currently a Lv90 Occultist, and don't really have an issue with anything other than phys reflect, but I do want more tool tip dps.

I have around 70ex to use for upgrading.

Do you already have the right flasks? (mainly Vinktar, Taste of Hate)

Get 21/20 Blade Vortex Gem
Switch out Life Leech and Increased Duration for Increased Critical Strikes and Increased Critical Damage gems.

I would switch out Vulnerability to Assassin's Mark, Assassin's Mark gives less damage, but it works on all crit strikes (so also Elemental Damage) not only Physical Damage. Plus it nets you more crits where the high Crit Damage comes in plus more flask charges with Pathfinder.

Personally I went with Facebreaker because it has so much more Crit Damage, I don't need the 50% crit chance and dex ... so easy choice for me.

The real question however is, why you don't know yourself how to upgrade your gear with legacy and mirrored items in your inventory?

Honestly, I would start with your Onslaught Knuckle ring with one that has or can have %ES, I would say get a better amulet but it already has legacy crit multiplier.

Swap out Warlord's Mark with some Damage (Assassin's Mark) or Defensive (Enfeeble) Curse. Vinktar and Promise (not needed to be honest, would rather get a Rumi's for some block) should be enough to get leech.

I have taste of hate and a phys vinktar.

I was running warlord's and assassin's mark, but not being able to run curse immune maps got kind of annoying...I kept getting curse immune rolls so I just switched back to life leech in the 6 link.

I have both an empower lv4 sitting for bosses, so I'd rather keep 1 red slot available.

Would rerolling a pathfinder be the easiest option? :S

Perhaps I should have rephrased my question better. Going forward, based on your critique, what gear really needs upgrading? Or does anyone have any knowledge of gear upgrade options that I should take note of, with respect to my current gear (outside of those mentioned in the OP).

I generally understand what mods are considered "ideal", but I was wondering if there were examples on how to upgrade my already 'specific gear', given that I haven't really delved too far into crit spell builds before. E.g. replace Onslaught Knuckle with XXXX ring, as mana is not as important as XXXX. Even if I know what to look for, I dont personally see what is wrong with asking others for their opinion.

(My legacy gear and mirrored shield are things I re-purposed from my other builds, but they might not be the most optimal. My shield isnt even a crit spell shield)

Why do I use warlord's mark? Because I'm kinda lazy and careless, so its there for convenience. Otherwise, i'd probably be running Assassins Mark. Also, I like endurance charges.

As per your suggestion, I'll probably self craft another diamond ring that I can bench some increased% ES on. As for my amulet, outside of mirrored options, Its a little too diffcult to replace right now.

i dono how to sustain life leech without warlord mark or lifeleech gem, any1 can suggest?

i use flask to sustain life leech with vinktar and atrizi promise, but sometime its not enough, i currently take the dual curse node to use assasin mark and warlord mark, would like to drop the nodes to save up 4 points and some aura nodes to save even more point. if i use warlord mark only, i can feel my dps significantly decreased and so my clear speed. Just bought the doryani heavy belt to help with 0.2 physical leech but apparently it not enough

I played a bit with the Aura calculator and found a better solution than in the first post.
You actually don't need a single Enlighten lvl 4!
We can make it work with a single lvl 21 Blood Magic gem (cheaper than Enlighten lvl 4) and rest Enlighten lvl 3.

if you want to run so few auras and no Empowers then this works fine.


I prefer to run far more power though. (and more energy shield from empowered Discipline ofc)



running all out setup requires two lvl 5 Enlightens, and a 3rd level 4 one. This lets you Empower two auras to level 26 (usually Discipline + Herald of Ice) and also run Herald of Ash, along with ofc Hatred/Haste/two curses and Clarity.

wearing Heretic's Veil allows you to add another aura (either of Herald of Thunder or Arctic Armor) but I prefer to wear real helm instead.


The cost of Empowered lvl26 Blade Vortex is 92 mana, so you need to get to either 92 + a little bit and a crap ton of regen, or a bigger buffer that allows slightly less regen. either way works (edit: or cut its cost with elreon jewelry or something wacky)
