This probably has been posted somewhere...but...rebuff LW speed&Leapslam distance?
Yea i get that whirling blades can't go over certain terrain&gaps, but with lightning warp/leap slam you move much slower than any player on whirling blade with similar attack speed stats.
So I'd say leap slam distance should be brought back up by 10%, while lightning warp change maybe to .85 or .9 seconds per cast. As for my 2nd case for buffing leap slam/LW is that: While already fast, whirling blades quality gets another 11% IAS on 22-23 qual, and leap slam gets....knockback on hit. As for Lightning warp..it takes at least 4 links (LW - Faster cast - Rapid decay - Less duration) to be mildly effective compared to popping quicksilvers and you don't get fortify... The typical link for whirling blade/leap slam only needs Faster attacks, and thus from there you can either do WB - FA - Fortify or something like LeapSlam - FA - Fortify - Flicker strike Also for lightning warp, if you're talking about dodging big/surprise attacks, it gets even worse; because skills like WB& leap slam have the Attack duration built INTO the movement, so your character starts moving as soon as you hit the key. LW movement on the other hand, is delayed by the cast speed and after you factor in human reaction time delay in battle, we can be looking at a .7-1 second delay (from .5 seconds per cast adding on another .2-.5 second for reaction times) for avoiding fatal hits/etc. Things like this are especially noticeable after i switched from WB to lightning Warp when I fight against bosses like Palace Dom or Waterways boss. (I'm running blade vortex, so the waterways boss thorns is extremely dangerous for me. That movement delay on lightning warp due to the casting animation can result in you instagibbing yourself at the slightest bit of tunnel vision) Movement is a big part of the game; used from gapclosing to avoiding big hits etc. A slight re-buff here would be much appreciated; I actually wouldn't even mind if they done something like adjust reduced duration on lightning warp to say 30% on lv 20, but changed cast speed to something like .7 second a cast. BTW.
Spoiler
(I'm currently running LW on a 6L; using 21/20 LW - less duration - FC - decay - Enhance - empower, and well..I can say that whirling blades is still faster overall lmao.)

Leap slam was nerfed because it was used as a skill to kill and has an incredible clearspeed, and it is only a movement skill.

" Multistrike doesn't work with any other movement skills, and shouldn't anyways, but the distance traveled reduction (15%) was way too much. It can be for example like this: 70 units --nerf--> 60 (current) --rebuff--> 65 units. Offensively, there is no reason to clear with leap slam over other skills as of the moment; if you can 1shot with leap slam, you can do it even better on flicker strike, but that is a whole other topic. If they really wanted to, they could also reduce the damage on leap slam, but there is no reason to atm. Last edited by SIQI on Jan 31, 2016, 10:20:02 AM

" people were building all around leap slam and the clear speed was insane I think the nerf was needed | |
the worst thing about LW is that you often end up in the location you were trying to "warp" from.
Qvis contra nos ?

Completely agree. Every wiz I know is daggering and whirling nowadays. Not only is it basically instant move you get fortify. LW gets no such mitigation buff being a spell so should be a a bit faster to escape harms way. I think main problem with LW was reduced duration became less duration which was about a 30% nerf.
Leap slam is horrible since range nerf. Like LW leapers are moving into whirl too. Git R Dun! Last edited by Aim_Deep on Feb 1, 2016, 11:10:16 PM

" Well leap slam on mobs is fine once they put a CD on their abilities which they did. I love teddy bears. Last edited by Stygian_Doll on Feb 2, 2016, 10:13:49 AM

So i am confused, we have a rather large thread about clear speed meta being poison to the game
so instead of bringing the major culprits behind that meta (in this case WB) down to a realistic level this thread instead wants to improve all of the other movement skills and compound the issue of clear speed meta? not sure if i like that idea. We already are running into the issue where the other movment mechanics in the game are getting over shadowed , who needs ms on gear/ tree or QS flasks when you can just zip around on attack speed alone? |
