[2.4] CI Bladefall Trapper - High tier mapping - EV/ES/Block - Updating for 2.4.

i already recommended "chance to avoid stunned if you've killed recently" on boots

however if you feel confident and you're running Magnate, attack speed also works and i used that myself, it buffs your movespeed with WB a lot and i felt Magnate was enough to sustain Kiara's determination

As far as helm goes a lot of things work depending on what you personally prefer:

- Curse effect(enfeeble/temp chains for defense, vulnerability for damage)

- reduced discipline reservation would save you some points spent on %mana/reduced reservation

- Whirling blades attack speed(duh)

- Bladefall aoe/damage - pretty meh imo would prefer aoe over damage

i'd drop conc effect/controlled destruction slot personally

i was using bladefall - trap - trap and mine damage - cluster trap - trap cooldown until 6L

after that i used controlled destruction for better aoe as the 6th link and swapped in conc effect for t14-15 maps because the extra damage helps on bosses/rares and those maps don't have huge packs anyways(GGG pls)

If you are just using it on bosses, why not Chaos instead, your decoy totem is already the distraction and you get some phys dmg reduction. Lightning would be good too for bosses

it was just such a minor thing that i barely used so i didn't put much thought into it, it's taunt was kinda ok though

i wouldn't use golems while in maps though, they seemed more of a hindrance than help

sometimes i'd throw traps infront of a pack expecting them to walk into traps but the golem would make them stop in place and target him so i'd have to waste another cooldown, the miniscule bonuses they give aren't worth the hassle at least for me personally, you might have a different feeling

just try and see what fits best for you

I have some questions. Please.

1. Does "Multiple Traps" deal more damage than "Cluster Traps" (because of double benefits such as trap damage and area damage)
2. What poison's calculation is? (1.39(trap)*1.39(trap dmg)*1.59(conc effect)*0.64(cluster traps))*(poison dmg(0) + chaos dmg(76) + trap dmg(>=314) + dmg(>=0) + area dmg(>=30))*0.2 (10% per second, last 2 seconds) = more than 1.65?
so 100% + 165%=265% (more than double our dmg?)
3. Poison makes effect each trap or each bladefall's wave (casting the spell summons five cascading waves of blades, with each wave dealing damage once (6% less damage per wave after the first), and each falling one wave's width further than the last (there is no space in between waves where damage is not dealt). Enemies can be knocked back by this skill or others, allowing for the possibility of multiple hits *wiki)?

I heard it hits the same mob with at least 2 volleys...

I did pvp with my mate. I dealt dmg without all of gems. They were: trap+bladefall+conc effect (and without conc effect). It seemed that poison made more dmg than a trap (sometimes 40% is the trap + 60% the poison). Once again: without all of gems (only trap+bladefall ± conc effect).

First I wanted to say thanks so much for putting in so much with this build, it is by far the most enjoyable I have ever had playing poe. I too love totems but found them to be quite lack luster of late but these bladefall traps... so so so much fun :)

My sab is currently 74 and I am loving it but I keep feeling drawn to occ... I don't know if I can give up chain reaction though? I feel like A LOT of our single target dps as a sab comes from the fact that all the traps get triggered at once melting your screen... How much does occ affect your clear speed after losing the trap cd and chain reaction? Also are you running occ this league??

multiple traps is more raw damage per trap than cluster trap due to the less modifier being well, less :D

but cluster trap aoe is far far better, multiple trap also has many more issues not related to damage, such as you can't throw your traps over ledges, rocks and gaps which is far too anoying to use

and you're correct, poison ends up being more damage than your initial hit due to multiple traps and multiple "wawes" of bladefall hitting, damage is calculated per 1 wawe, same as your bladefall tooltip

gratz on 6l, 550 fuse is very lucky

roll bubbling of staunching on your mana flask, you need staunching and bubbling helps a lot too

Why are you using Physical to lightning? i already explained earlier that it virtually halves your dps because half of your hit doesn't poison with it, you're running around doing half of potential damage

I advise people not to switch gems or use different nodes on the tree unless they understand game mechanics very well

getting 5 green on splendour is easier than you think, it doesn't have offcolours, it has equal chance of rolling any colour, that's why it's such a good chest for any ES build that uses red/green gems, it takes maybe 200 chromes at worst to get whatever colors you need

anyways just replace the Phys to lightning and get yourself that very needed bleed removal suffix on flask and you're good to do anything

Occultist is not bad per se but as far as mapping goes it will cut your speed by a lot, not just chain reaction but loss of cooldown, if you were doing 3 min maps with saboteur you'd be doing 5+ min maps with occultist most likely, at least that were my outcomes when testing on standard and why i put Saboteur as the "recommended class"
