[2.1.2] Blackdepp's Arc Witch (MoM, EB, ZO, Non-Crit)
PEWPEWPEWWW,
actualy playing this build, vaal storm call is pretty usefull to clean bosses even if it's not sufficient. However, i used the basic stormcall with the same bunch of gems linked to it and it was quite efficient. Would love an update to 2.2, awesome build. Ascendancy for my witch is Elementalist and i do enjoy it with this build :) |

Labyrinth runs with this build? hell nah!
lightning warp in succession is buggy as hell, arc dmg against Izaro is 0000 and survivability against him is so hard! mostly because i got my lightning warp on a second wand (look at my setup a few posts before) And obviously vaal storm call does nothing here do i really have to switch to spark or normal storm call to do some damage? what is a more reliable single target damage? |
|
Well since you have the opportunity to change your build just before Izaro,
i think it would worth the try to change your arc with storm call or spark. I do not especialy like spark and i do not find Izaro is moving so much during the fight so i think sort call would be a good spell to increase your damages during this fight. But if so, i usualy prefer to switch spell echo by faster casting... Spell echo on storm call prevents you of moving as freely as you want. In fact it realy depends on what you are confortable with :]

Does it make sense to switch out Chaos Golem for Lightning Golem in 2.2 and Ascend to Elementalist to take Liege of the Primordial?
|

I'm only at lvl 77 with this build; but it is already such a beast, and fun as hell to play whether you want to single click through a map or actively ninja around with skills.
As for vaal storm call, I may be missing something; but I cannot keep it charged when I seem to need it most, so I use the standard storm call/ curse on hit/ herald of thunder/ conductivity to help tackle bosses and lightning resist stuff. If I get too many lightning resist bosses piled up, a flame totem thrown in for good measure, but using it less and less as lightning pen goes up :) On ascendancy I took liege of primordial, and run a lightning and flame golem to help aggro mobs away from me and make use of some of the multi-element status effect nodes taken (celestial punishment, for example). Although you lose some of the bonuses of Liege of primordial, a stone and chaos golem duo compliment this build vs lots of projectile and high ES, low armor caster mobs. So far so good, and no complaints if you play it like it is. The only deviation I've made so far is dipping into faith and steel in the templar area for a little boost to def and resists. Still working on gear, but I have the basics in place.

Why do we level elemental overload if we run controlled destruction? Isn't it pointless since we won't crit enough?
|
|
Hey I am still using your old build and didnt see that you updated it. Anyway I've got a question.
Why do you even bother skilling Elemental Overload if you are gonna go for Controlled Destruction anyway. |
|
" A tad necro, but I've been evolving this build myself and wanted to address this question and add to the build a bit (still viable in 2.5 although my maps have stalled at T10 for the most part) -Elemental Overload is ideal for non-crit builds that still crit semi-regularly, but would not gain much from crit multipliers. Since this build barely touches crit nodes or gear, we wouldn't get much bonus from multipliers, anyway; so we forgo the multiplier for the extra 40% elemental damage, which is a respectable compliment for an elementalist with liege of primordial, paragon of calamity, and shaper of desolation (which all add +% elemental damage as well). -Controlled Destruction's 100% crit rate penalty can be overcome with +crit passives (Crackling Speed, for example), gear, and ice golem. However, this build should probably only expect 10-20% crit-rate, endgame. Nevertheless, with 10-20% crit rate, you can still expect a crit about every 10 (+/-2) seconds, and Ele Overload has an 8 second duration; so 70-100% uptime. This is more dependable during clearing, and increases the damage and clearspeed of Arc substantially. I didn't math, instead basing my estimates of experience with the build. |

Can you please update the Passive Skill Tree to match the version of the game 2.5 ?
This build looks fun, i dont want to screw this with my own Passive Skill Tree. Thank you. |
