Chat Moderation
Chat moderation is a dumb system and ruins game immersion and unity.
While we can't all hope for fewer invasive moderators who let their personal feelings get in the way (they do it for free and take their job very seriously after all), a UI option to ignore moderator mutes (which is turned off by default) would mean that we are able to continue talking to people we enjoy talking to. Entire conversations are ruined because moderators find them "distasteful". If you allow people the option to ignore messages from muted people, but also see conversations from muted people that aren't primate messages the entire game would improve. This a polite post :^) Last edited by ihasmario#4211 on Jan 14, 2016, 7:32:41 PM

The only people able to mute you are employees of GGG, as such personal feelings don't have a roll in any mute they may give out...it may be mistaken but more often than not you get muted because you get reported by more than one person and even then GGG would need to see if what was reported was against the ToS...this includes character names being inappropriate.

So people are roleplaying in the global chat? :)
Seriously, some of the stuff that goes down in the public chat is the type you could report to the authorities in some places, and PoE is an international game, not an US-American one. If you want no moderation, which I guess I can understand, why not create a guild? Or claim one of the high-number globals that nobody gets put in by chance? The chat system is a bit like a hotel, and the first 10 or so are the bar. There are a lot of other, more private rooms where the bouncers won't interfere. | |
If people don't like mute then they shouldn't say stupid things that get them muted.

I honestly thought that this post was about "please moderate better / more". About 5-20% of what I see in global is worth an outright mute. If you just have manners and behave like a normal person, you will not be muted, easy as that.
Also, more mutes for trading in global, please. Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.
