Never.

You are correct, with that type of system it may have helped "casuals"
But that will never be the way trading is done in this game.

So the people on/trading 24/7 will still reign supreme.

Just wait and see.

But Why??? There is absolutly NO reason for that and it just makes the game inconvenient. Doesn't the GGG whant opposit result - to make POE convinient and enjoyable for massive audience across the globe? I know several of my friends, who quited after a couple of weeks when they realized they should play 24/7, use forum and 3rd party software to buy good gear and progress their builds.

Honestly, I am having a hard time continuing to play. The trade system is just incredibly awful. For such a great game to have such a AWFUL (in that it is virtually non-existent) trade system is bizarre.

As a new player, I was shocked that such a basic element of ARPG'ing has been disregarded. Maybe GGG thinks that they are setting themself apart. Well, they are. But not in a good way.

Casuals are left with few choices if they want to continue to progress. And one way is something that i know GGG wants to avoid: It pushes them to have to actually buy currency so that they can trade for gear upgrades. The inability to sell their gear in game, means that they are currency starved to buy the gear they need to progress, so they end up selling their soul to the devil and going to a farming site to get their Exalts/etc.

I came to PoE in search of a game that I could pick up and play for 45-60 min at a time as my daughter allows :P

The game itself is EXACTLY what I am looking for. But without a viable trade system in place that allows me to turn my gear into currency, so that I can get new gear, I will ultimately have to switch games.
I counted 3 questions about fixing trade and at least 2 of them about an auction house. Companies that listen to their customers tend to make more money. I'm not going to say that you should let that get in the way of making the game you want, but eventually you either listen to your customer or they leave. Please don't mistake this for a "complain" post as it is simply a general observation.

When will the full comic book be available for purchase?

Here you go!

I'd love to get one, but holy crap those shipping costs! $23.65 shipping for a $15.99 comic, that's not going to happen.

Edit: fortunately I found a web shop closer to home which also carries it. Yay :-)

Holy shit yes, I'd be willing to pay for cosmetics with that amount of impact.

More supply could just as easily = lower drop rates if GGG feels the need to further balance based on the economy once it gets easier and a lot more people enter it.

I dont see why GGG would want to fuck with the economy via drop rates, just let the market dictate itself. And i just can't see why getting better gear easier is bad? And i dont mean GGG items, those will remain expensive as fuck, but you shouldn't have to get into so much trouble to upgrade your lvl 15 boots when you're already at 50.

Ofc this will never be the way trading will go, because GGG chooses so. Thing is, although they try to cater to the no-lifers, 24/7 players, numbers always win, even top 10 players who donated the most together cant spend more than 10k players together, they need as many players as they can get and if you ask the ones who left, the vast majority has trade/economy as number one complainment.
I currently do not trade in POE because it is too time consuming and frustrating to do so. Going to a website(a third party website) is just a horrendous design. Thinking about trading in POE lends itself to too much strategy for a simple function of an online game. Until it becomes easier, I will not trade.

I can concede not having an instant buyout functionality in the trade system.

However...

I would like to see the following:

-Everything done inside of POE obviously.

-Online/Offline Status ... If we have to directly communicate with the person, this is a must. Theres nothing worse than finding an item you want for the price you want and having to sift through a page of offline people.

-Current status and location of the seller (i.e. if he is in the middle of a malachai fight, do you really want to bug him? If he is in Sarn, sure Message him)

-"Message me" button to message the seller from the window.

-A toggle to determine if the item is buyout only or room to haggle for price?

-Obvious filters and sifters to find what you need.

Well said. Agreed. I am totally self found because I cannot be bothered to immerse myself in the "art" of trading in the current game. Which leads to me only being able to get to a certain level and never beyond it. Which leads to me rolling a half dozen chars, leveling through the story content over and over without really touching maps because I rip before I get there (Im hardcore player) because I don't have the currency to buy the good gear or re-roll the slots and stats needed. This leads me to stop playing the game because Im burnt out of Act 1-4 on Normal and Cruel. This leads me to taking my wallet elsewhere. And I have done this already.

I honestly dont really care if the trade system is going to make the flipper job easier. I just want to be able to purchase a piece of gear, or trade currency within ~2 or 3 minutes of loading up the in-game GUI for trade. Any more time than that spent on trading is time wasted for me and I can't do that.

This!!!!! 100% agree
Well said Deliverme314 and cesmode, your posts totally describe how i feel about trading in this game, overall it feels like 99% time wasted and 1% actually trading.
