[3.1] DEADEYE Caustic Arrow DPS-focused 6k+ life 60k+ DoT DPS

been running the defensive version in THC and so far im in love lol. used TS and CA to level and im a little worried that TS is that much stronger for clear speed but later on im thinking CA will be safer and/or just as effective. thanks for this guide

I am currently playing a TS ranger in Talisman, lvl 93, and there is a threshold where TS becomes better than CA, which is, IMO, somehwere at having a 400+ dps Harbinger. Considering the prices for 400+ DPS Harbingers, that's actually pretty good for CA :)

why does conc effect show the reduced AOE for CA in the tooltip but doesnt show a dps boost? this is the first skill ive used conc effect with where that has been the case.

That's just how it works with Caustic Arrow, it has always been like that. The DPS boost does apply, though: http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Caustic_Arrow
"Concentrated Effect will decrease the size of the AoE and increase its damage. However, due to the nature of the skill and the wording of its modifiers, the damage increase will not appear on the tooltip."

thanks for your help and your guide. i have 1 more question. in THC i was able to get this bow after a consuming dark dropped for me



my question is.. am i better off with conc effect or empower/pierce? i have an empower non corrupt lvl 2 and then a lvl 1 and im still trying to level both. i dont want the dissapointment of corrupting my lvl 2 yet, and i dont have a 6L anyway so should i stick with conc effect til i can get a 6L or will empower be stronger?

Use conc effect, empower would need to be at least level 3 to be worth it.

Well, it's pretty hard to make a leveling tree, since you can't rly level effectively with Caustic Arrow. But I'll try and think of something.
