So, let me get this straight, you got lowballed on an item and he copped a 'tude when you said no, and you somehow think that's worse than price fixing for YEARS by facetiously listing legacy items, alt arts, etc.. for around half of the value with the sole intention of nabbing up the ones that pop up at or below your price, then proceeding to falsify demand and drive the price up?

You get lowballed? Say no and move on. They still wanna chat? Ignore them, move on. Boom, done. People drink and smoke and talk shit in video games. The easy point of failure here is that the engaging party has to make contact one by one and it takes the ever so precious player interaction we all laugh about that rarely works.

However, price fixing is both a passive and widespread tactic used that not only hurts new and old players alike, but it reaches much more of a player base without having to make contact with a single person; rather ignoring all contact with anyone interested.

If someone wants to lowball 100 players 1 by 1 and if they actually get an alt art cloak of flames for 500ex then they worked for that shit and a player agreed to sell it for that. In my opinion, this in no way can be construed as something as evil as price fixing, falsifying demand, and needlessly making prices skyrocket.

However, listing an alt art cloak of flames for half the value, willfully ignoring hundreds of messages about it does significant damage to the market passively. You are not being a door-to-door salesman getting his hustle on looking for good deals. You are setting a trap and waiting for that one moment for an old player to come back and fall in. Once he sees your price and assumes incorrectly the market price IS your price, you are eliminating any need at all in order to lowball! We're talking about several steps before the lowball here. It's market manipulating to the highest extent.

for starters, i didn't even have it priced. it's not about the lowball, it was the absurd attitude that accompanied it. thanks for telling me i can ignore people, though - i had no idea!

you might want to brush up on your reading comprehension, because i clearly mentioned plural friends and a wanna-be cartel, featuring someone who's been caught in quite a few scams. and who censors the living hell out of his youtube comments, too...

the point's the same - if you're against people trapping/screwing over n00bs/ignoramuses/anyone, it's an odd stone to throw. while people like me won't fall for fake-listing-price-fixing or strong arm tactics and scams, the people who are prone to the former would also seem prone to the latter, anyway.

and unless i'm missing something, shkreli actually seems to be a halfway decent guy with a mostly bad rap. he's no saint, but screwing insurance companies doesn't seem tooooo terrible. time will tell whether he was misunderstood and a whistleblower or a POS and a vindictive bastard. or both, i guess.
