Yup Decay is another effect dealing chaos damage that can be used along poison and can't be dispelled (for now at least).
Also there no reason that you can't ignite and poison at the same time if you are dealing fire and chaos/physical damage on the same attack and have an ignite/poison activation condition on your gear/gem setup/passive tree. Last edited by IceDeal#5895 on Oct 11, 2016, 5:22:26 PM

" Double dipping is the effect of one modifier affecting both the attack and the effect creating by it. For example fire dmg mod increase any fire damages AND the burn created by that attack. It's a big problem with everything poison related (and fire as well with Grand Spectrum jewels as elemental damage mod double dip on Ignite) because everyone was just stacking "more" modifiers with traps and physical spell resulting in massive poison damages. It was also the same with Voltaxic before the nerf (it still work though). Double Dipping was introduced in 1.0.2 to buff DoT damages who were really lacklusting before. It was a great idea but became a big problem with the introduction of poison and later on Ascendancies. Their last "fix" was to reduce poison damages to 8% of physical/chaos damage and stop traps modifier to double dip on anything but it's just a temporary solution as they search for a better one (probably the removal of double dip and a small buff to DoT to compensate). Poison can/could double dip chaos, area, projectile, mine, trap and general damage modifiers. Which means that poison can/could double dip the emberwake taming combo. Around the start of essence league, GGG announced the intention of nerfing poison double dipping, but I don't think they did yet. I'm not 100% sure though, I've not used poison since the start of essence league. My emberwake taming poison build got irreparably broken with the latest nerfs to coc, so I've had no interest in keeping track of poison.
The double dip mentioned here: With emberwake+taming, 300 ignites on a mob will increase the damage from your initial hit with 3000%. Since the taming modifier counts for all damage, the poison damage also gets increased by 3000%. So ignoring other poison/double dipping modifiers, poison would do (physical+chaos tooltip * 10% * 30 * 30) chaos damage in 2 seconds, per hit. |

Yeah, they haven't gotten to double-dip nerf. I imagine it has a good chance of happening in December though.

They just reduced poison to 8% of chaos/phys hit damage and removed "traps" from the double dip modifier list.
