Tanky Arc Templar/TAT
I originally planned to follow ZiggyD's Arc Templar for 2.1, but I personally found Blasphemy to be a humongous disappointment, so I reworked the tree and played some Talisman. This character also managed to solo a ghosted Tunneltrap on a multiproj map, I'd say the tanky part is covered.
I regret to inform that the TAT (tanky arc templar) died to Piety on a Zana daily at level 85. Totally preventable, I'm gonna mark off the HC viable check box. Arc got a substantial buff, not only damage-wise but mechanically in 2.1. Getting more chains earlier is pretty sweet. Mana regen is still in a pretty poor state compared to what it used to be pre-2.0, but with the right gear and passives I managed to get about 130 mana regen per second, which made Mind over Matter viable without the old Eldritch Battery. Granted you'll only have about 300 mana unreserved, the regen is fast enough to save you, it sure saved me a bunch of times.

Gear
On my chest, I purely looked for 5 links on an Armor/ES base to roll my colors easily. On my helmet I wanted STR to buff my life and Iron Will. Same goes for the Belt and gloves. On the boots you're just gonna want move speed since we don't have a spare 3L for LW/FC/LD. Flame Dash is only ok, LW will always be preferred in my opinion. On my wand I looked for spell damage and mana regeneration, same thing for the shield, but in that slot I needed to cap my resistances. Rings are the same, resists, some attributes and life. The amulet is a free spot, essentially. If I ever play this build again I'll most likely swap it out with Atziri's Foible to free up some other pieces for more life. I hardly ever run a different flask setup than this. In a perfect world the mods would be Catalysed of Warding, Seething of Staunching and Seething of Heat on the life flasks. Perpetual Granite of Iron Skin as well as Perpetual QS of Adrenaline. Simple stuff.
Links
First off we got our damage output. Arc - Spell Echo - Lightning Penetration - Controlled Destruction - Iron Will. Potential 6th links would be either Empower or Innervate. Next up, our 2 layers of triggered defenses. Cast When Damage Taken - Tempest Shield Cast When Damage Taken - Molten Shell In this build we're getting Endurance Charges, so the good ol' CWDT/IC/ID is always valid, but personally I don't dig on being impervious to physical damage when the buff lasts so shortly unless you heavily invest in it, if thats what you're looking for you arrived 2 patches too late. Next is our always-on defenses. Arctic Armor is definitely one of my favorite buffs in the game. It's so reliable, and I'm forcing myself to use it a lot more now that I've been showered in the rain cloud MTX from the winter mystery boxes. Warlords Mark gives us 2% leech and endurance charges on kill, solid curse, but sadly it no longer gives more flask charges back from slain enemies, that curse effect was moved on to Poachers Mark in it's introduction. Our Curse on Hit setup will contain Curse On Hit - Herald Of Thunder - Conductivity - Warlords Mark. This is where you can go either full softcore or full hardcore. Instead of WM and Con, you can link Enfeeble and Temporal Chains. You can also link Elemental Weakness instead of WM just for the damage. It's really up to what you prefer as you play. As for golem, I chose to go for the Fire Golem, but Chaos Golem would have been a better choice in hindsight. Additionally I run Clarity at lvl 14 and standard culling Flame Totem, which also helps you out on EE maps. Last bumped on Mar 7, 2016, 10:32:00 AM

What was your arc dps tooltip at 85?

I am running something similar. i have LW-LD-FC on my swap weapons for bridging and escaping i like what you did with the tree, im going to respec a few points and try it out

" Around 12K. To get better damage I simply needed to take more damage on the tree though, you can skip a lot of utility or health to get spell damage from both witch start and templar start. |
|
" I'd love to have that, but my Arctic Armor and golem ended up in my weapon and shield, so I'd have to re-cast those every time I swapped. |

So I've been following Ziggy's guide aside from Blasphemy, running HoL with Warlords/Conductivity. I like your passive tree MUCH better, and i'm going to be using some regrets to take a path more similar to this one I think.
Ziggy's tree has 200% hp and 54% armor, how does this one compare? I'm not at home to punch it into the planner. If you were to attain a 6L chest, what would you slot? I've heard level 21 Arc gains an additional chain, so maybe empower? AMD FX 8350 4.0 Mhz OC@ 4.8 Mhz

This is so odd, my arc (witch) died to Piety too in Zana map (kill corrupted boss) could of been avoided too, i did not expect to die to lightning ball while face tanking it with flask. Perhaps miscalculation on timing, sad, i like arc so much, now cant decide if i want tanky Templar or Witch again. 13k tooltip, isn't that a bit low? By all means i am no expert, so please explain/correct me on that.
