[2.4] Thor's Thunderblunt Mjölner Discharge (Uber & Shaper Viable)

Life Leech or Lightning Pen make a lot of sense in MJ, but has anyone tried Empower lvl 3 or 4? Seems like it would raise the base damage even more.
Hi , can you add level session passive point
? Really want to play this build and how much different between legacy and non legacy mjonler :d

That may sort of work in really big packs, but still instead of getting 4-5 endurance charges per discharge, you would get like 1-3 every couple discharges. Without voll's devotion your best option would be a Lightning Coil and focus more heavily towards Power Charges and defenses. Without running both purities you lose a lot of defense, and this build prides itself on completely ignoring elemental damage. Righteous fire isn't necessarily sustained, but we ignore it's degen by keeping up our Ruby Flask and using one to dispell burning in tight situations or when we aren't fighting anything.

Yeah, it was just a suggestion for the budget build with Kingsguard. I didn't try the Lightning Coil and power charge version, but that seems like another good option.

As an update, after about a week and a half of farming Voll, I found 4 cards and was able to buy the other 4 with currency I made from my Voll runs. I had a friend rush a new character to Act 4 to keep him low to prevent the higher ilvl implicits on my Voll's Devotion, and I ended up with a +3% chaos resist Voll's Devotion with low life roll. Not too useful, but at least it's not completely useless. Respec'd with an Alpha's Howl, regeared to meet the Str/Int requirements for Mjolner and Dex for Grace/Blood rage, and now running your 3-aura setup, although haven't speced into Barbarism for +1% Max Fire Resist or Champion of the Cause for another -4% reserved mana and instead took more life nodes. Also able to snag a +1 Endurance Charge Magnate for cheap on TSC since I can't use legacy Surgeon's.

The build has been doing great. Only deaths I've had so far were from carelessness. I didn't see that I leap slammed into a group of flame bearers and didn't notice the flames because of too much discharge effects and now my Chaos resist is at a paltry -57% so poison wrecks me if I don't pay attention. Another problem is my life pool is pretty low at 3.8k, and sometimes my life gets low from too many hits before discharge+Kingsguard kicks in. I'm still getting a feel for playing this build as I've only had my Voll's Devotion for a couple days now.

Here's how I Voll farmed if anyone is thinking about it. I buff with Blood Rage and Righteous Fire, carry 2 Ruby Flasks, and kill everything on my way to Voll, picking up all currency and rares I can carry. I stashed a tab of rares for the unID chaos recipe and turn it in at each set with amulets being the limiting item. Each Voll run took about 2 minutes and I'd make about a chaos per run, not including the unID chaos recipe or few good rares or exalt that drops. I'd get a Brittle Emperor card every few days which is somewhere in the range of 100-200 runs. With the cards I dropped and making about an exalt a day, I had enough cards after a week and a half. It's boring farming Voll for that long, but if you're dedicated, you can get enough Brittle Emperors that way.
Hi! You don't have enough int for wearing mjolner. It is only 150 in tree,76 in your gloves and 24 in amulet. How can you wear mjolner? Ty
yea i decided to try out this build i really dont understand how you have the int for this, im using repetence, ring with 45int boots with 55 int(no movespeed as a result) and belt with 40 str plus 2 jewels with int/str to get it

I dunno how others did it but I temporarily grabbed ancestral knowledge and picked up my mj at lvl 62 - the strength node on the way to it also helped because it was the 412 strength req which had me screwed. IIRC I was undercapped on cold resist even after I picked up alpha's howl at 64.
That doesn't matter tho because even at low levels the mj discharge overwhelms all before it.
Once I hit 65 I was whacking the bejeezus outta tier 3 and 4 maps with nary a rip. That also meant racing thru the lvls and capping more and more until I let the ancestral knowledge and might nodes go in the early 70's.

I'm still not straight with Ren's take at lvl 85 - for me Ren's passive chart is about where to end up, the fun of wham blamming all before is added to by my customizing the right mix of equip and passives along the way.

I can't say it enough this is a great build so good that even barely competent players such as meself can use it and live.
Many other builds in here are as twitchy as skinny virgin, this one handles a bumbling old ne'er do well & laughs all the way.
whats the best starting class fore this build
I'm very glad you all appreciate the guide, and I hope you all have tons of fun with it!

just a short question, why not use wild strike or lightning strike instead molten strike?

thx alot for this guide, playing it on league atm :D

No problem! Lightning Strike with the chain from Mjolner means it will have the most discharge when attacking large packs of monsters, but very poor against single monsters. Molten Strike is the best choice as it will have a large amount of projectiles that hit anything near you whether it be monster packs or single targets. I'd avoid wild strike completely to be honest, doesn't come close to molten or lightning strike.

A Witch will focus mostly towards more damage, Marauder mostly towards achieving a higher life pool and defenses, and Templar is my personal favorite because once the new expansion is released, Templar will be able to ignore all elemental resistances on critical strikes - meaning our discharges will be doing much more damage.
Sincerely,
Ren

yea it felt a little better now, but my hp is kinda low 3893 + 831 ES, all my gems are low so im still leveling, im making this char mostly to kill uber since i have a fakener CI and it clears all maps way faster/safer and better but i always wanted to play a mjolnir and figured i could kill uber and play it at the same time

if you guys have any suggestion to improve for me i would hugely appreciate, atm im trying to get 91 so i can grab that extra power charge with intuitive leap

my gear and i guess my profile is public so its possible to see my tree

i guess i could invest in a better ring/belt but since i ran out of chroms trying to get 3 green 3 red on kingsguard i decided to chill i little and level the gems
Hey, I'm working my way towards a Mjolner + Discharge Build for a while, and I came across this. I have some questions on changes to the build.

Is running an Aegis Aurora + Rumi's Concoction viable? Or will Spells do too much damage?

Seeing as I have already started my build, I have higher damage for my Lightning Spells, but no crit. Will this be able to make up for it? I plan on running Resolute Technique so I always land my proc hits. Here is a link to my (eventual) build, and was hoping I could have an expert eye give the stats a quick look.

Is using Cyclone to stack Charges and proc Discharge doable?

But I'm absolutely loving your build and the effort you put into it! So much shredding power, and it even looks great. Great job!
