Total bullshit called here if hideout snow effects are in these boxes. They were marketed as an exclusive last year iirc, waiting a year and putting them in "mystery boxes" seems really shitty.

The snow is in these boxes and it was never said to be exclusive to last year, simply exclusive to winter/Christmas. Here is a snippet from last year's post on the matter.

Why would you try to absolve GGG of any wrong doing? It's a really dirty marketing tactic. You cant even buy the snow on its own and are left to gamble on boxes if you want it now, They should at least be consistent. Probably wont support this game any more.



His post is ambiguous, they didn't definitively suggest it would be available again the next year, in fact he gave the impression that it was an exclusive. Deliberately omitting words is lying too. Sneaky GGG.

There is no wrong doing to absolve them from. Your misunderstanding is yours alone, not theirs. Every other time there has been a truly limited microtransation, it has explicitly been stated as such. That was not the case with the snow.
2013 Halloween - "They're not available after November 1..."
2013 Thanksgiving - "...two loosely-Thanksgiving-themed hats that are for sale until December 7."
2013 Christmas - "The Holiday Present Sack is for sale until January 7th."
2014 Halloween - "For the next week only..."
2014 Thanksgiving - "This is a limited-time microtransaction only available this week."
2015 Halloween - "They're only available this week."

The 2013/2014 Valentine's Heart weapon effect was the only actual mishap on GGG's part that I can recall in relation to exclusive holiday MTX.

I will say that I do agree with you on the matter of Snow, Ice Crystals and Northern Lights being purchasable outside of the box since they are limited edition and going away with said box.
Sorry to learn that something as simple as this is making you question your continued support of the game.

Bought 50$ supporter pack (was going to buy this anyway) but speed up the process for the mystery box.
While i understand how gambling works and 'rng'. I find it disappointing that from 455 points, i received 2 boots, 2 gloves, no other artic pieces. No wolf (the only thing i was actually after) and no lynx (while i didnt really want this...it would have been a good 'almost' since no wolf)

I'd gladly trade everything except my fireworks for just the wolf...Im not disappointed at GGG or anything..but unlike the last mystery boxes i've just had really horrible luck.

Sorry to see so many unhappy people posting here. As others have already said, if you plan on buying those winter boxes, please be responsible and set a budget. My budget was $10. I was lucky and got 1 wolf, 1 lynx, 1 arctic hatred, 1 northern lights and 2 ice crystals from my six boxes. If I didn't get anything I wanted, I would have been disappointed, but I wouldn't have felt ripped off because I only spent what I was willing to lose. Gambling is about luck and there are no guarantees. The odds are always against you. If you lose, don't throw good money after bad, thinking just one more box will contain that wolf or armour you want. Stick to your budget, and if you win, quit while you're ahead.
