[2.1] FROSTBITE - Fast paced, High DPS, Strong Defenses Frostblades build

Makes sense. I'm nowhere near that dps, so it feels more required.

One more thing: I decided to try out your end charge on stun setup. I'm assuming my dps is too low to actually stun anything as I pretty much never see an end charge pop up. Do you have a recommended dps at which point this becomes actually useful?

The 80k thing is a full charges / flasked dps. My non-charges tooltip dps is no more than 50k. What's your character level man?

I haven't leveled with this build - I'm using it to level my my 90 character (which I got rolling pretty much fully geared from his earlier build). I`m really sorry, but I can`t say exactly how the endurance charges could work on lower level characters. Although there is something you could do: add Stun support gem instead of one of the triggers (Reckoning or Riposte - keep vengeance, as it seems to trigger more often). Reducing enemy stun threshold might be what it takes for your character to get some charges from those triggers. Also try your character on lower level maps/acts - if it works on lower levels but not on high level, it's definitly a dps thing (and it will improve with time). Then again, you could drop another trigger gem (keeping only vengeance) and add Melee physical damage support (with Stun support gem as well).

My gear is really cheap right now. I don't have an armor piece worth more than a few chaos. Think I paid 5-8 for my dagger. Tool-tip without charges is only 6553, so I have a loooong way to go.

I will definitely try adding the stun support. My survivability against bosses is pretty crap, so I'd like those endurance charges.

Jarhead,

I see you've made some adaptations to fit your current character's level/gear conditions. That's pretty cool. One suggestion that might improve your survivability is to replace "Cloth and Chain" and "Quick step" clusters to "Writeen in blood" one. Also getting "Master of the Arena node". Doing that you'll also be able to connect the top right corner of the tree with +10 +10 int points, allowing you to drop Wisdom of the Glade.

There is a couple more suggestion on this adaptation I've made for you. Hope it helps.

Right now I'm going projectile-based, which is why I chose the Fury Bolts path out of the duelist tree as apposed to Master of the Arena/Defiance. I have thought about some of the other shield nodes though. Weapon Artistry and Precise Interception in the Ranger area are close to each other. At least those damage bonuses would affect my projectiles.

Lightning Strike with 20% quality will get you 40% piercing (against 64% from lvl 15 pierce gem). If you stack both, 100% piercing! That´s interesting indeed. Still, 40% from quality might already be enough.

On the other hand, if you play with Frost Blades (like I´ve being doing), you won´t need to pierce, as it chains pretty nicely (but I might be wrong - I´m just assuming FB don´t benefit from piercing without any base as I haven´t tested and can´t test right now / at work).

I haven´t used the particular chest and it´s a very interesting piece. The added armour is very welcome and the +100 life is cool too. If I new how to, I would theorycraft it´s survivability when compared to Belly or Coil - perhaps someone reading this thread could do it?

I believe I got the build to what I consider a stable version. Managed to level from 90 to 91 with it. No deaths.

Changes:

• Dropped Maligaro's and Rat's Nest - Now I'm using rare glove (+max life +AS) and Starkonja's Helmet (+max life +dps). Starkonja's colateral is negligible pretty much always.

• Abandoned the perma-enfeeble, replacing it with Herald of Ash (and getting back to rare boots). Enfeeble is now triggered by Cwdt, which works like a charm.

• Some minor tree and Flasks adjustments (check OP).

• Using Frostblades only. LS wasn't helping on tight maps and FB synergyzes efficiently with whirling blades.

The build is working fine against bosses up to level 77 maps (any bosses). I haven't tested 78 maps yet but played a lot of different 77's. It demands some awareness though.

I'll upload a video soon (next couple days).

Not really bro. Frost Blades is already an efficient AOE. It combines a semi-long range single target followed a Chain like AOE.

Melee splash will just reduce your dps. It also have no effect on the projectiles.

From gamepedia:

"
Melee Splash does not release additional projectiles from secondary targets struck by the initial melee splash, nor does it splash the projectiles' damage.
