This guide is damn amazing, and you are doing great job, and is very helpful. Especially for a beginner who still runs max T5 maps.
When I started mapping it was great help, so I hope OP haven't abandoned it.
Atlas has done major overhaul of all maps. So, while important parts are stil valuable (mostly warnings about overtuned bosses, because IIRC no map boss is easier now; only some are made harder). Some parts are a bit outdated (e.g. Vaal Pyramid now is high-tier map).

TL:DR For people who are reading this guide for the first time. Warnings are still actual, but some claims about easy maps may not be accurate (also some maps have changed tiers in AoW)

I haven't written much for PoE, but I've written guides for other games, so I have some experience. Hopefully this guide can get back up to date soon, it helped me immensely when I started mapping!

Finished a massive overhaul of the guide catering for the massive changes to the map system during Atlas of Worlds. Also factored in the changes made to map mods made in 2.5 Breach. Added a section covering unique maps (not all completed yet).

I have ambitions to extend on the advanced sections of the guide soon for more experienced players.

Small correction in the trading up maps section: you mention that trading three maps of a tort to a vendor gives a map of the next tier. This isn't always true. The way it works is that, trading three maps of the same tier gives you the next connected map on the atlas (directionally, towards the center). Most of the time, this is one tier higher, but that's not always the case. For example, vendoring three residence maps (t12) gives you a plateau map (t12).
