Free weapon effects
woop woop or.. it feels like they are free. I was happy with the portal effects + pets Looking forward to the Jackie Chan league.  inb4 people do not understand the reference, and I will look like a crazy person. But who am I trying to fool.. aspirant weapon mtx is very underwhelming, when compared to axiom pack which was at the same price point.
however, props to ggg for the portal and pet mtx. The gargoyle is really well-designed! |

GGG, I'm disappointed with the packs this time around.
I know you had to throw the first two together, but you should have been prepared prior to releasing the packs. This part may be incorrect, but my understanding is that the portal and weapon effects simply weren't included in the first two just because. If that's wrong, sorry, I just remember reading something of the sorts. Even assuming the previous point was in fact incorrect, that first pack just is so lackluster. I love supporting you, I love buying your packs and MTX as this is the best game I've ever played (and want to see it thrive), have been playing since Beta, but I won't be buying any packs this time around. I'm not spending 200 on the third pack, and I'm not wasting my money on the first two. I, personally, don't have money to throw away freely. The first two packs are weak. Give players incentive to buy the packs - make them all awesome, obviously with the top-end ones being incredible. But this is poorly done. |

You get great looking pet, great looking portal effect, middle good weapon effect, and bunch of points to spend on mtx... but you still say you are wasting your money. I just cant agree with people still complaining after GGG added weapon and portal effects to 2 starting packs. Alt Art items as League MTX - When?

Some ppl will always complain, oh well. Even if you give them pet,portal, weapon mtx, footprints and full armor with 50$ (and you also get points to buy other mtx with points worth almost 50$ anyway) they will still complain why we dont get even more.

Initially I was unimpressed with the 2.1 supporter packs. I felt that the Aspirant and Challenger packs not offering portal effects, even though the more expensive packs did, was unfair and insulting. I was not alone in my lack of hype and quickly became aware of how many others were unhappy with the Ascendancy packs.
So did GGG! Less than an hour later, Chris via. Bex's post informed everyone that there would be additional supporter pack effects. They would be adding portal effects to the Aspirant and Challenger packs and, all four packs would see unplanned weapon effects! This is why I support Path of Exile. I immediately purchased a Challenger pack, w/out even seeing the new effects. I logged in today to see GGG deliver on what was promised, and I'm very happy with the added portal effects! When I think of portals I don't want hideout decorations....I'm looking for a magical gateway that materializes when I read from a portal scroll. The new portal effects feel more temporary for lack of a better word, and I love that. O ya I got Pets, Points, and Weapon Effects too.... <3 Thank you GGG! The world is full of stories, and from time to time they permit themselves to be told.

Personally, i really like the more subtle weapon end portal effect of the first two tiers and the complexity of the third. The first three basically feel like each was an upgraded version of the one below, which i really like. Usually, i will only start adding MTX to a char around the time my build is coming around but this time, i could use the first weapon effect from the start, then upgrade later for more shinyness and bling. Also: that third tier pack is looking at me in a funny way. *scratches head and checks wallet* hm, if you also get the skill balancing right, my family might not see that much of me in the holidays. Definitely kudos to you guys for adding so much extra stuff in such a short time! 11.02.2013 - 11.02.2017: four year PoE anniversary!
