The Ascendancy Supporter Packs!

I am very glad to see the announcement about the additional mtx in the packs. I wasn't planning to complain about it to GGG, nor would it likely have affected how much money I sent GGG's way, since I pretty much just buy the packs as I reach the point where I'm at or near 80% from regular points purchases, and then upgrade the next time I want points -- the goodies that come with the packs are just a bonus -- but I was pretty underwhelmed. I'm not super enthusiastic about either pets or portal effects anyway, but figured it was likely that there'd be at least one mtx I liked in a pack that I was likely to buy... and then was not really wowed. Weapon effects, on the other hand, are a favorite of mine, and as I'm more likely to enjoy a simpler portal design than a really elaborate and resource-intensive one, I'll probably like at least one of the new portal effects too.

Ok, now show me portal/weapon effects and I am eady to upgrade Aspirant Supporter to next pack! Be quick, I will not be drunk forever!

I am ready to admit that I will rag on GGG for the things they do wrong, but at the same time I will very readily admit that their responses to their community is some of the best I have seen when it comes to stuff like this. And not just because I think they 'catered to the whiners', but that they (and Chris specifically in this case) can say that they made a mistake and are rectifying it as best they can. I did buy the $440 pack when I saw it after seeing how the pets and portals looked, and honestly they are fantastic (IMHO)...very well animated and look cool to boot.
I do look forward to seeing what else will be added into the mix and it makes me happy to support this company even through the rough times and stuff that they don't fix right away. :p Again, I can harp and rag a lot at times, but this time GGG has my respect in more ways than one. Thank you very much for being so connected to your community and understanding and even admitting to fault...something other dev companies far bigger than yourselves should take heed and learn from. |

Wow, I was just about to chime in on the disappointment going on about those packs. But with your quick reaction I will stay put until the new weapon effects are added. This will be my first supporter pack so make it a good one. With only those gargoyles I might have just bought some coins again. Keep up the good work though.

Nice to see the update from Chris, up to that point I was very disappointed but the packs after the mentioned additions seem alot more justifiable.
