My gear:

Spoiler

With this gear, boss damage (specialy breach) is too low.
I can do it because survi is rly nice but time is to long.

can you tell me your avg damage with concentrated effect and life?

Its 14,5k wo any buff.

mine is 15580 in town, seems that your damage is fine.
How much life do you have in total? I'm at 6773 at the moment

Its low, just 4,8k.
But i have bad life roll in shield and some life % in skill tree to take

yep, the defensive mechanics are very good (vs bleeding, for example) but the build struggles a bit to reach a good life pool being a melee, maybe some nodes could be swapped for the life ones

I bought a steel ring and it has a prefix open.

The open once in crafting are "Adds X to X damage to your attacks" and % armour/evasion rating.

Obviously flat physical isnt open, but is fire damage good for herald of ash or should I just craft armor or evasion rating? I think more defense is better since the damage is already quite good.

flat elemental damage for this build isn't that good as more armour rating, as it doesn't scale with facebreaker unarmed physical dmg :)

What's the difference between this build and Saito's more recent Shield Charge build?

They look almost identical?

Saito's Build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1815080

There aren't any major differences. It's the exact same build outside of a couple of tiny things:
-He uses a BV/curse on hit setup while I just autocast curse whenever hit from cwdt (I find manual cast of BV annoying and prefer to free up links for other things)
-He has two 4% life nodes in tree where I get damage instead, which is totally viable and a good option for endgame farming
-He includes red nightmare in build (which I plan to include as an endgame option but don't have yet as I didn't play Breach)

Saito also doesn't include options for swapping to cyclone (particularly helpful without super gg gear to still kill guardians). We are both using what is probably the "best' life base slayer facebreaker setup, so he may have just arrived on this build on his own. That said, he did link to both my build and Mathil's when he initially posted the guide but removed it later. All good, FB is strong and a good league build... happy people are enjoying it.

Yep, as Giammafix said, you want armour% for a prefix is life/phys are already there. It's most efficient but only worth spending an ex on if your steel ring is a solid one you intend to use for a while.

Thanks for answering folks questions and sharing your experience while I was busy these last weeks!

Life in general is not easy to scale on high DPS builds. That said, with all t1 life rolls on gear, I am over 7.5k life at level 94 (7.9k with belly vs rare chest). It feels pretty safe as a slayer!

Im only at 6168. Do you mind having a look on what I could change? I got one jewel slot open - looking for 4mod - and then I have some life nodes at Scion and Marauder starting area left. You have 4points more than me in those, would that really push me up another 1.3k hp? :S

My skill tree is a bit different than yours but shouldn't be on the hp department.

Great build anyways. Thanks!

As with everything in poe, the last bit of stats are a confluence of many small things... it's hard to min-max!

Here's what you can do to get the numbers I have:
-fix your tree! (intuitive leap is extremely inefficient for our build... use better pathing and get the 6% nodes around devotion and use a rare jewel here for more stats)
-Re-allocate other suboptimal passives to life nodes (each 5 % is around 100 life)
-Get a level or two (12 base life per, and 1 more passive)
-Use a rare astral chest (40 more flat life) or a belly (40% life)... i prefer the rare at endgame for min-max since armour is nice and res makes other items easier
-Switch to an ammy with t1 life (40 flat life missing here)
-Get 7 % life on all rare jewels (including the one currently as intuitive... use better pathing to get there)

You're welcome :D I enjoyed so much playing facebreaker slayer all league long! thanks to this build I almost completed my atlas (shaper's realm included) and done all the challenges for the prizes! :)

I should reach 6800+ life at level 93, maybe 7000 if I don't take the diamond skin node to overcap fire and cold resistances :P I'm keeping for now the first two melee damage nodes instead of the life, armour and evasion ones, until I can get some more melee damage on my jewels, I'm afraid I'll lose a bit much of dps otherwise...

Switched some stuff around. Now I have 7100 with carcass jack on and not a t1 life amulet. Not that I died before either but feels even safer now! :D I think the 5 endurance charges help with that. Thanks for the input. Great build. Im gonna do it as a league starter next league, which brings me to my next question. Is it better to go totems, eq or straight into the build at the start? Id rather do as little re-allocation as possible later on, and I want to get straight into farming ulab in the beginning. Tyty
