you do not have a jewel or equipment which has leech mana, this is a requirement for the build to run :)

also you are missing the abyssus which will give you a lot of dps

Hi guys!

Here's my facebreaker build. It's an extremely min-max unarmed character, with blazing clear speed and well rounded defense. Although you see videos and screens with my endgame gear, this build works extremely well on a budget and in leagues. I just played through essence casually with 790% FB, and was clearing t15 with ease on the shield charge setup. In my opinion, it is a great league starting character.

Please note: The build CAN run with 6L cyclone, shield charge, ancestral warchief, infernal blow, or ice crash. I find the 6L shield charge/4L warchief to be the best for clear speed and all content except perhaps guardians/shaper. The 6L cyclone/4L warchief version is the best bosskiller for guardians and shaper, but is much slower for general mapping compared to shield charge. The gear is identical between the builds, and the only change is some extra mana reduce/regen in tree for the cyclone version (2 different trees included below).

***I am very happy to answer any questions I can, but please try to read the guide first, as your answer is likely already in here. Thank you!***

Build Highlights:
- 1.4 million full buff 6L cyclone dps (still over 1 million non legacy)
- 512k full buff 6L shield charge dps (108k dmg @ 4.74aps)
- 734k full buff ancestral warchief dps on 4L!!!!
- 7k+ life when leveled and geared (7.24k at lvl 93 for me)
- 10k+ armour (18k+ with flask, 90% phys reduction with basalt)
- 43 % block (75%/15% with rumis flask)
- 76/75/75% ele res
- 38% of life regen per sec (due to slayer perma leech)
- 140% MS and 4.74 aps, for uncontrollably fast speed! (vaal haste + quicksilver)
- can be built on budget/non-legacy and still get huge dps and solid defense... great league starter!

Passive Tree, Subclass, and bandits:
Spoiler
Tree:
Endgame Shield Charge tree at lvl 98: poeurl.com/S0Y
Shield Charge tree at lvl 90: poeurl.com/TFZ
Shield Charge tree at lvl 70: poeurl.com/TF3
Shield Charge tree at lvl 40: poeurl.com/Ukv

Endgame Cyclone tree at lvl 98: poeurl.com/S1M

Notes on tree:
-The jewel sockets are only worth it if you have jewels with 3+ good mods for your build. Otherwise they are not as efficient as simply picking up missing 4-5 % life nodes. Grab good jewels! If you don't have them, drop the least efficient 2 slots (the one with 2 10 int nodes before, and the one with 2 8% armour nodes before it).
-This tree is what is best for me with MY gear. Bear in mind that you can customize it to meet your needs or the shortcomings of your gear. If you are short on res, grab the 15 all res node (Diamond Skin). If you need dex or int for gem requirements, grab a 30 int or 30 dex node, or even Versatility (fairly efficient due to the attack speed and mana reduce).
-If you are HC, you want to heavily prioritize the life nodes as you progress.

Subclass:

Slayer is the best subclass for the build. It really can't be beat imo, as it gives you:
-50% reduced reflect damage
-Perma leech (at 38% of life/sec)
-Stun and bleed immune
-20% "more" damage
-Cull at 20% life
-Onslaught
-15 % increased AOE
-10% increased attack speed
-.4% life leech

You want to get the 4 nodes for Brutal Fervour first (the leech is vital), then the 4 nodes for Headsman. Enjoy!

Bandits:
40 life / 8% attack speed / frenzy charge

Gearing Guide
Spoiler
As you look at the gearing options below, keep in mind that the huge unarmed % on your facebreakers makes flat physical damage insane, and by far the most important stat available. Also note that you *MUST* have a single mana leech roll on your gear or jewels for your mana to work... I highly recommend getting it as a mod on a jewel or a prefix on a ring.

As a rule of thumb, generally prioritize stats this order:
-FLAT PHYSICAL DAMAGE>
-life>
-strength (this is life + melee dmg%)>
-elemental resistences (until capped)>
-dex/int (until gem requirements met)

THE GEAR:

Gloves:
Get Facebreakers, completely mandatory! This is the whole point of the build, and 780% + non-legacy rolls are totally fine. This is your "weapon", and now you will stack flat physical damage to scale up off of the base % on these gloves.

Helm:
Get Abyssus, totally mandatory! This thing has outrageously large flat physical damage, and makes up a large portion of our dps. The most important roll on here is the "increased physical damage taken"... try to get a 40%, or as close to 40% as you can afford.

Belt:
Get Meginord's girdle, also mandatory! You can equip this at lvl 8 and it will help big time with leveling. Try to get legacy if you can as the extra flat physical is good (still great in leagues as non legacy). If you are min/maxxing, you can go for a 6% aoe corruption as well.

Armour:
While you level, simply use a tabula, as 6L is amazing. Once you reach endgame, you have 3 great options. For big life, belly of the beast. For big damage and AoE, carcass jack. For well rounded defense that makes res easier, get a good rare astral plate. The latter option is great for overcapping res to be immune to ele weak. You can get by on a 5L dropping added fire, though you lose a good bit of dps.

Shield:
I strongly prefer a rare shield with big armour, life, res, and if possible, block. For a budget option you can use lioneye shield. Great old one's is huge dps option, but you will lose out on a lot of armour and life. Deep one's hide is amazing for leveling due to the flat physical and low lvl req.

Rings:
Get two rare rings... preferably with steel base for endgame, and iron base while leveling. It is VITAL to get a t1 physical roll here to maximize dps (9-15 is cap, level 44 mod). If you are very rich, you can get steel rings with deafening tier essence physical (11-17). The warden's brand is a great dps ring for leveling early, though the lower attack speed will slow your clear speed if you are using shield charge.

Amulet:
Go for an onyx or turquoise base (we need dex/int for gem reqs), and once again, it is VITAL to get t1 physical here to maximize dps (15-26 max, level 76 mod). If you are very rich, you can get a deafening tier essence physical (18-30).

THE JEWELS:
Jewels are a big deal for this build, and account for quite a bit of your damage/life. This is also a good place to balance resists missing on gear, if needed. Once again, this is a great place to pick up that mandatory mana leech mod.

Here are the most useful mods mods, in order that I value them in terms of efficiency:
% increased life
% increased physical damage
% attack speed while holding shield
% melee physical damage while holding shield
% increased attack speed
% increased area damage
% increased melee damage
% all elemental resists
% mana leech (***WE NEED 1 OF THESE MODS, IT IS MANDATORY FOR MANA TO WORK***)
% increased damage
% resist to 2 elements
% increased attack and cast speed

There are 2 great unique jewels that can are worth using for even more AoE:
Martial Artistry (use for shield charge OR cyclone... DEFINITELY use 1)
Warlord's Reach (only worth using with cyclone)

Gem Links:
Spoiler

6L Options:

***Note- if you only have 5L, drop added fire from the following***

Shield Charge (best map clearing skill, recommended):
shield charge - fortify - melee phys dmg - added fire dmg - faster attacks - AoE/conc effect (swap for boss)

Cyclone (best bosskilling skill, slower for maps than SC):
cyclone - melee phys dmg - added fire dmg - fast attacks - fortify - AoE/conc effect (swap for boss)

Infernal blow (fun, but not recommended):

infernal Blow - melee phys damage - multistrike - fast attacks - AoE - melee splash

Ice crash (fun, but not recommended):
ice crash - melee phys dmg - hypothermia - added fire - faster attacks - AoE/conc effect (swap for boss)

Other Links:

4L:
ancestral warchief - melee physical damage - faster attacks - conc effect

4L:
cwdt (lvl 5) - immortal call (lvl 7) - inc duration (lvl 20) - vulnerability OR enfeeble (lvl 8)

4L:
blood rage - vaal haste - inc duration - enhance OR enduring cry

3L:
hatred - herald of ash - flame golem OR lightning golem (both viable)

League Strategy
Spoiler
Get gear upgrades in the following order (unless you find a particularly good deal on something):
-Meginord's belt >
-Wanderlust boots >
-Facebreaker >
-2 rare rings with as high physical damage as you can find >
-rare ammy with as high physical damage as you can find >
-deep one's hide shield >
-tabula rasa (div cards can make this cheaper) >
-rare jewel with mana leech and 1+ other useful mods >
-abyssus >
-rare boots with 30 ms and life/res >
-Jewels with 3+ useful mods per this guide >
-6L astral plate (can use div cards to make it cheaper) >
-Good rare shield >
-steel rings with t1 phys >
-Incrementally upgrade moving towards the ideal gear I linked here in guide...

General tips:
-Try to get all the gems/links as fast as you can once you meet the level req... don't forget to grab ancestral warchief ASAP as it makes mince meat of of bosses that can be slower with only SC.
-Make sure you get every passive quest reward and your bandits as early as you can, it will give you a boost vs content
-Don't forget to use vendor recipe to turn your lvl 20 gems into lvl 1 / 20 q gems as you level. The quality is really important!
-Once you have cleared merciless, farm dried lake until level 75-76, then start spamming maps. Make sure to get every clear you can ASAP to fill out atlas and make map pool sustainable. Profit! :D

Build Mechanics
Spoiler

Ancestral Warchief
This guy is borderline broken... I have 734k dps on my buffed 4L. Having him active in radius will also boost your SC or cyclone damage. Once you are geared, you will only use this for bosses, and very hard rares on t14+ maps, as everything is getting 1 shot you normal attack. That said... for bosses popping vaal haste, dropping totem, and activating flasks will result in overwhelming damage.

Blood Rage
Always activate this immediately when you enter a map. This is big source of leech, attack speed, and most importantly, frenzy charges! It's on increased duration, so it will stay active for around 20 seconds... should only require 1 cast all map.

Frenzy Charges
These are generated through blood rage, you should always have 4. Activate blood rage immediately when you enter maps and gather your charges, as this is a lot of attack speed and "more" damage.

Fortify
We have this up 100%, as it's on our 6L. It's a nice bit of damage mitigation.

Immortal Call
Although we don't support this with endurance charges, the .7 sec you get going off all the time on cwdt is extremely helpful. As long as you don't get 1 shot (which is hard with 7k life and good mitigation), this will keep a quick 2nd hit from killing you.

Vaal Haste
Keep it popped as much as possible while you clear. It's a massive boost to clear speed, letting me hit over 4.5 aps with insane move speed. When you know boss is close, keep it charged so you can activate it right as you walk into the arena. 10 sec should be enough for most any boss fight!

My endgame standard gear and links:

Enchantments

Spoiler
Helm:
You really want 15 % speed or 40 % damage here (to shield charge or cyclone, depending on your build). It can take ages to roll or cost a few ex, but it's worth it!

Boots:
There are a bunch of viable options here, but 16% attack speed is a consistent and solid dps boost, and is the best. Movement speed or leech would probably be the next most viable options. It took me 24 uber labs to get my roll:

Gloves:
I believe that Commandment of Force is the best enchant here (may be wrong). This attack seems to scale off your melee damage, and at a whopping 243%. It has a 5 second cooldown, but will strike along with your initial hit of cyclone in a cleave-like attack. This is amazing because it deals more damage than you can with other attacks, resulting in even strong ele prolif burns from your herald of ash (thanks to the big overkill damage). Let me know if you have a better idea for glove enchant!

First, awesome build!

WHat about Lightning coil in this build?

I want to know if you could help me making something like your build but using Gladiator for survivability (there some awesome passives like the bleeding ones with AOE), don't need to have awesome clearspeed, just enough to do t15s. I'm playing in the HC league

i'll try to run it with Blasfemy and warlords mark for endurance charges, mana/life leech and stun

Hey how are you farming easily uber izaro? I have around same DPS and you are missing high life rolls on most of your gear so you must be around 5-5.5k hp? I have 6.1k Hp and he still one shots me sometimes. Ive only tried him today tho with full buffs so it might be because i had Vulnerability and he had extra dmg.

Hello there, awesome awesome build. Have to say im in love with this build. The only problem that i have is, im debating myself weather to use the the great old wards sheild or just a rare shield with high defenses.
I'll try to give everyone a satisfying response... text wall incoming. :D

What to expect from me in the coming weeks (when time permits... gotta finish that dissertation):
-Expanded section on gem links (speaking to quality)
-Add section on map mods (though we can do most...)
-Add uber lab video
-Add guardians/shaper videos (85% to lvl 94, will record after I get another map session in)

I'm new to the game, and i picked up this build in breech as my first character ever to make it to maps, I even added demopolis to steam to ask him some questions and he didn't hesitate to help me out.

As someone who has no idea what i'm doing, i started off slow, i asked some questions, I figured out what I was doing with the build, I made it to t15 maps with 760% facebreakers abysus and a 6 link astral plate and average rolls on rings and amulet.

If you are having problems with mana leech, take some mana regen/mana nodes, You can only sustain the mana leech once you get some damage.

Love the build will be doing it every league starter now that i know what i'm doing, The gear is semi cheap because not many people are using the pieces required.

10/10

Thanks bro! Really appreciate you sharing your experience here. If people follow all the details in the guide... you end up with a fairly inexpensive character that fast farms t15/uber lab, with a fast and fun melee playstyle.

What's the recommended order of gems for quality? Didn't see it in main post, might be blind though!

Yep, it's not there! I will add it when time permits.

If you are league and haven't hit some huge currency jackpot while leveling, I would simply level all gems to 20, then do vendor recipe to turn them lvl 1 with 20 quality. You will have all 20/20 gems by lvl 92 or so without spending, and get free chances at the good vaal corruptions.

In general, if you are going to buy quality gems, go with roughly this order:
-shield charge OR cyclone (whatever you use)
-fast attacks and blood rage (the speed boost is more efficient than the 10% dmg boosts elsehwere)
-ancestral warchief
-the remaining 4 links on your 6L
-the remaining 3 links on your 4L warchief
-all else (besides things you don't benefit from... like quality on cwdt or hatred)

Thanks for sharing bud! Yea you really don't need good gear for uber lab. Slayer makes this very easy. Once you are 85 + and used to the lab, you should be consistently deathless even with very mediocre gear.

"
sknabi wrote:

hey i was wondering if you were using the cyclone build or the shield charge build to take out uber izaro and atziri

Shield charge is the better lab running build. It is much much faster, and you don't need the added cyclone dps for uber izaro since he melts anyway. All you do is drop warchief, hit flasks, go HAM. He dies in a couple secs with mediocre gear, or 1 sec with good gear.

Cyclone is the better bosskiller, but imo is only worth the switch if you are done leveling and plan to purely farm uber atziri/guardians/shaper. Shield charge is just so much faster for spamming 2 minute t15s while you level.

Thinking about running this build but concerned about the endgame boss viability (guardians, shaper, uber atziri). Assuming I'm using cyclone, how does it compare to other top builds?

It definitely is viable. I haven't played a ton since the new content was released (that dissertation :X...), so I don't have footage to share yet. My friend played this exact build last league and was able to do shaper and all guardians with the SHIELD CHARGE version. So I am imagining the extra dps with cyclone will make it very competitive.

I will record some guardians etc as soon as done with level, and you can see what you think (I am 85% of the way to 94 right now).

"
JerryVoy wrote:
I used Shield Charge, i think the DPS is enough for both Izaro and Atziri. Maybee i will need to swap to Cyclone for Shaper and other end game content. I killed Uber Izaro with both buffs, he had Gargoyle (one of them gives him extra armour) and Fonts (i had vulnerability). Also i only have 5.8k hp cause my ring and ammy dont have HP (i cant find an upgrade), once i get life on them i should be at around 6.3k hp more than enough to facetank.

BTW Demopolos all my main gems just got lvl 20, should i sell them? Is the qlty more important than the levels for this build?

Yea SC is plenty for uber izaro/t15s/reg atziri, and it's DOABLE for uber atziri/shaper/guardians... but for the bosses requires good gear or great micro skills. Cyclone will be easier for those endgame bosses, since 1.1-1.4m full buff dps (2m if you are legacy and factor in warchief). Also, if you use belly and are really high level, it's possible to hit 8k life with the build. At level 94 with belly/gg gear I think I will have nearly 7.4k life, and the rest of my tree is pure life.

In terms of gems... yea if it were me i would vendor recipe all of them to 20 % quality and just keep leveling. A 18/20 gem is better than a 20/0 gem, and you will be 18/20 after a couple hrs of mapping tops. If you are rich in league and want to blow currency, u can go ahead and buy new gems though (I would try to snipe the right corruptions... but there is probly better ways to spend your currency atm).

Good reminder! I will when time permits. We can run most everything... will need to go over the list in detail to double check, but:

No-nos:
-Can't run no leech
- -max res combined with +100% of 1-2 ele dmg can be risky
-ele reflect AND phys reflect combined is risky

Work around:
-For no mana regen, use mana flask
-For blood magic, turn off auras (dps still good enough for t15, just a bit slower)
-For ele weakness, either be overcapped already, or have jewel / gear swap to overcap (personally I have 2 jewels that I swap on to overcap)
-for physical reflect... swap melee phys dmg in 6L to leech (not needed if tuned build, but makes it easy)
-for ele reflect... swap added fire dmg in 6L to leech (not needed if tuned build, but makes it easy)

I think these are the core things to note... will try to write up in more detail later.

Yea your gear is solid for uber lab farming, got the core stuff you need.

Before you drop big on some items, there is low hanging fruit for upgrades:
-blessed your meginord to 34-35 str (str = great for us... life + phys dmg)
-upgrade your boots to 30 move + 70 or more life + some res/atts (probly your worst item)
-put a higher master life roll into your ammy and rift gyre ring if you aren't about to replace (35-44 is the higher tier)
-reroll higher armour roll in your shield if you aren't about to replace
-replace sulphur flask with basalt ... great defense till you get taste of hate

Thanks man!

Yea lightning coil can be great, but it puts some harsh res requirements on your rares... particularly if you don't wanna lose dps from lower physical rolls. I think that you can make an extremely viable gladiator build for HC... if you aren't worried about clear speed I would definitely use cyclone as it's huge dps lets you invest more heavily in block/life/regen in tree.

I probably would not use aura reserve for warlords mark. I would actually use the new Surrender shield with 75/75 block gladiator if I were you. The 250 life/block + your normal leech dps + some regen should be extremely good sustain for life. I think that herald of ash + hatred are staple for this build... unless you are going bleed/poison and want to work in vulnerability aura.

For endurance charges... while it's annoying I would manual cast enduring cry. OR you can use end charge on melee stun + reckoning/other counter. With 75/75 block this should be quite consistent, especially if you are the cyclone build (more time spent actually near mobs, unlike shield charge). I plan to make a gladiator/block/surrender/voidheart build at some point, and will post if it seems like a success.

Hope this gives you some ideas!

Hello there, awesome awesome build. Have to say im in love with this build. The only problem that i have is, im debating myself weather to use the the great old wards sheild or just a rare shield with high defenses.

Happy you're enjoying!

Well great old one's is great dps... but we already have overkill dps.

For me a good rare shield (vs great old ones) is like ... +5k armour. The solid armour this build has makes it okay to do endgame content with abyssus, and helps us not get rekt by phys reflect. To me it's a no brainer. That said... great old one's will be solid as budget dps option till you are farming red maps imo.

Just recorded a quick Atziri speed run: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJvmBZhoHEQ

Complete in 2 min 7 seconds. :D
Can you post a full T16 run including boss?

Also, where is the IIQ coming from?

Check out my LA build: 1782214
HellO ! Are you guys dieing ? i mean, even in softcore, Am actually feeling totally crazy about playing with Abyssus in Breach Hardcore League...

Am just starting maps (t4 actually), but i dont want to dieeeeeeeee XXDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Hey Demopololos really loving the build! I am having trouble finding gear in league wondering if I am doing something wrong with searches or if the gear just doesn't exist for a reasonable price yet.

My facebreakers are 784 should I try and get that all the way to 800?
Should I save up for Taste of hate first or a 6l chest first?

Here is the search I am using to try and find rings (sorting by total) http://poe.trade/search/eteisahoioritu

Still getting one shot every so often so I know I need some more armour and life. Would like to fix my rings then 6l then taste of hate. Wondering what your advice is!
