Putting more grinding and randomness into the skill tree...

Why don't you abadon the skilltree already and make every slot a jewel slot?

You've got it all wrong. Next up; Across the board Jewel nerfs and... Jewel Effect passive nodes!! Everything must be specialized. :)

Seriously though, buffing underperforming skills by adding jewels that require very precise placement in the tree is not really a good way to balance them.

Think the ST one is not as good as devs hoping/ guessing. Other things sound interessting.

But as mentioned, this jewels cant take away that some skills are terrible. Think this will freak up Balance between skills.

Imho its dumb that only 5% of skills are worth to be used at endgame. Instead of fixing this we get jewels that directly boosts a skill that still is worse compared to others.

not sure if i like this but looking Forward to test that out

My only question for the tarred ground is why would anyone use that over ice shot? Do they not essentially do the same thing?
They do similar but distinct things. Chilled ground applies Chill, which is a 30% slow on the enemy (affects all actions, is effectively multiplicative with cast/attack/movement/etc speeds since it's affecting the enemy's animations themselves at a lower level).

Ground Tar is a 50% reduction to movement speed. This is a higher value, is additive with other modifiers to movement speed, and, unlike chilled ground, stacks with actually chilling the monster via cold damage. However, it doesn't affect the speed the monsters perform actions at, only their movement.

So which is better depends on what you're trying to do, and what you want to stack it with, but in terms of keeping melee monsters from moving closer to you, Tar will usually be the better option.

Problem is: Ranged chars dont really struggle with normal "walking" meelee monsters, but with teleporters/flicker striker and high elemental burst like piety. Why should i try to kite stuff i could oneshot with any other meta skill while my real wekness isnt covered by the supposedly more utility heavy skill?

I wished all the other options were a bit more original, but i understand that it could be very hard to balance and code then.

The only really good scenario i can imagine for these jewel based buffs to work is when we get more options per skill. That could convince people to opt around a per se lackluster skill while being able to alter their playstyle with just changing some jewels.

Imo changing the animations for altered skills would add lots of immersion and feeling to the system.

Looking forward to those jewels in the new league. Youre doing great asking the community for input.

Thanks guys

Can we have something like:
" With at least 50 intelligence allocated in radius, Animate Guardian becomes somewhat intelligent"
These are all incredibly underwhelming and uninspired.

OMG Kreygasm

The summoner in me has a pitched tent.

Also, I'm hyped for that fireball change!!! Can't wait to test it out!
Great idea, but as usual it'll be underpowered enough so nobody will use it or overpowered enough so that it will get nerfed until nobody will use it. Leaving us with nothing after all the investment of time. So yeah, rather not risk it.
Vote +1 to change Path of Exile to Path of Nerfs.
We hate to say, but ProjectPT was right.

ill try to call this 1 10% to summon a skeleton when it dies
Will be nice to see if I can revamp my first character with better game knowledge and a better fireball! :D
Gravity is just a prejudice. A part of Earth's jurisdiction. As an apache helicopter, I find that very oppressive.
