[3.0][VIDEO][Slayer] SWEEP or DIE [cheap, beginner friendly, huge AOE, deathless Atziri >300k dps]

Thanks for posting this very interesting guide. I'm currently leveling up and I can't wait to try this build in maps. But there is one question that concerns me: how does this build fare compared to cyclone? The melee meta still seems to be dominated by cyclone despite the nerf. I'm a bit worried that you could just swap out sweep for cyclone and get better dps and clear speed. What's the point in playing sweep if that were the case? Or in other words: how exactly does this sweep build stand out from those 5 billion cyclone builds out there?

" Hi! Very good question. IMO the biggest advantage of Sweep over Cyclone is the HUGE AOE you can get with it, especially with this build. That allows you faster mob/map clearing than with Cyclone. Cyc. on the other hand is better against bosses since it has higher DPS. As defense, with Cyc. you can't get stunned. With Sweep you can mitigate somewhat lower DPS in bossfights with Concentrated Effect (though i don't always recommend it). As for defense, you can get stunned Sweeping but my build on the other hand has good defensive props, due to again large AOE and knockback effect. This build(as many others) also received quite a buff in last patch with higher mana pool. In short, again IMO, Cyclone generally better for bosses, my Sweep build better for mobs/faster map clearing(and good with bosses). You can refer to my video section in OP. I also find Cyc. mechanics somewhat clunky. Last edited by Chayman#7686 on Jan 3, 2016, 4:21:28 PM

Great guide! Very fun, unique build to level up and play.
Quick question, what level do you keep your CWDT gem at? Cheers. |
|
" Glad you like it. Currently I keep CWDT at lvl 11. You can check it out in "My current gear" section in op. |

Why would you take the 6% attack speed in duelist start but not take the 8% from bandits in Cruel?
Thou shalt not guard.

" I don't know! :D You have a completely valid point, thanks. Op updated. |

Hi man, loving the build so far (76) but curse + jump + sweep feels a bit clunky to me. What do you think about a 5/6-link chest with leap slam/fortify/blood magic/curse on hit/Warlords/faster attack or inc AoE as 6th? and using the freed up link for a enduring cry setup. Would feel a lot smoother imo.. dont have a 5/6link to test it out atm. Have you tried this?
So i just made a shitty 5link chest and it's pretty awesome. I can actually go Jump->Pot in Air->End Cry(basically immortal for about 1s due to 1k/s cry active and 3s+ IC if it even procs)->Sweep until all dead and move on now, as opposed to the prev Pot Jump Jump Curse Sweep Jump Jump Jump Pot Sweep... Having max charges instantly helps a ton, especially since you don't have to stop sweeping in case IC proced and set you back to 0 charges. Having the curse on 1-2 monsters is actually enough to stay at full mana until everything dies. 6th link chest isn't even needed. This just feels a lot saver (im on hc) and also faster cause u dont have to spend so much time jumping. I recommend you check it out. Thanks for the build btw! " Interesting ideas. Why do you have to stop sweeping if IC procs? I just sweep till all the mobs are gone. Basically I curse a pack of mobs and sweep till all dead, then move to next one. Rinse and repeat. I can understand if curse + leap feels clunky to you. I used it for so long now it comes natural for me. There is definitely room for different setups on the chest, especially in 5-6 link scenario. Will check it out during the weekend. Glad you enjoy the build so far. For HC I recommend you take as much life and armor nodes first as possible. |
