You wouldn't be able to continue in SC with the same character as death in Hardcore should drop you into standard and not the 1 month SC league. It would be nice if the challenges could be completed in either league and still receive the rewards. They are shared between Tempest and Warbands so I am guessing it would be the same in the 1 month. Edit I reread the first post and this is stated " Challenges completed in either event contribute to your challenge total.
