I vote for flashback, the last one was awesome.
I am also a casual player but put in quite a bit of play time. I'd love to get prizes for my play time.
I would love MTX as prizes for level attainment or challenge completion. I would however play just about anything you do unless its focused on short time high player experience or skill required event.
I am a community member who loves watching streams of players playing in them while I play my standard characters.
I truly loved the flashback league, so I definitely cast my vote on that one. I also liked the idea of cosmetic rewards for simply leveling up to a certain level. This meant we could focus on having a good time instead of succumbing to that "achievement hunting"-headache.
Flashback for sure.

Edit: multiplying the amount of Exiles and/or warbands seems worth considering. Exiles everywhere was probably the most fun I've had playing the game so far. Not only because of the constant loot explosion, but also because of the constant need to be on your toes and adapt your tactics to the combination of exiles you are facing at the time.
My HC Race & PVP Rewards collection at /3140751. Please help me locate the few missing ones!

Does the league type have an effect on where the stash/chars end up when the league ends?

Event type - I think we have more fun with flashback leagues. Part of it is that we've already run both warbands and tempest for months, we don't want to do that all over again, and part of it is just the crazier combinations. I'm particularly looking forward to beyond + anything.

Goals - I strongly favour challenges. That is to say, I think that prize for top of ladder is good, level threshold is meh, and challenges are fun. Set the highest level threshold as something that people are just naturally going to hit with only a bit of effort (so 82 these leagues were fine, 90 a few leagues ago was not fine.) Seriously though, level grinding is not fun. Going off on the egg hunt (or different sorts of egg hunt) is fun. Particularly if it's a timed egg hunt involving different league mods!

Prizes - as I recall, the armour sets were a huge hit. As someone who doesn't actually buy appearance MTX, I'd like the chance to be coordinated for once. Even if I'll probably not use them most of the time because I roll too many characters. (It's also an incentive to complete challenges, but I'm the sort of person who quietly trundles along on challenges just because they're there, so this doesn't bother me overly much.)

edit on prizes - level threshold prize in a remove-only tab you can access immediately upon hitting the threshold. Pretty please?

Id like to see the spirit that the new leagues have of constant change and sharing information. So why not have different combinations of league mods move from zone to zone on a timer like the warbands?
Event type
Flashback event

Player Goals
Level thresholds

Prizes
Golden Seraph Set
I love to see an event where Tempest and Warbands combined is active ALL the time + more or less flashback style addons are active at any given point.

Why not combine your 2 choices.

Prices? I don't really care.

Selffound for life! :D
What about monster golf? Hit it HARD - go find it - Hit it hard again :D

It could, but for instance in the last all mods league they just didn't enable any league uniques, and that way it kind of mitigated the overpowered nature of the league drops (it had a lot of drops as it was).

With Warbands/Tempest they indicated they would include league uniques, with all the mods I assume none would be included. It's part of the price, if they went way overboard, like exiles everywhere, then they'd have to send everything to void league.

A final point though, is while I'd love more MTX, is that GGG has to balance how much they give away. It's still a revenue source for them. I think there's lots of guaranteed prizes they could do though, that don't really stifle their ability to sell MTX (I seriously doubt they'll automatically give away stash tabs, it takes away a lot of incentive for someone who might have had 4 and was considering buying more).
