[2.5] Dual Flame Totem Crit version. 263k dps (400k possible) . Uber and Normal Atziri



Hi everyone!

I have been asked a few times to do a guide on my build so here it is. This build can do any mapmod and easy deathless Atziri runs.

Last few leagues the build has taken few changes and is now best playd as Templar Inquisitor.

Here is my current templar for those interested :

This is my first guide so be kind :)

I took a 2 month break during 2.0 beta. I had planned to start 2.0 with a Fire Trapper since I love that playstyle, but with the nerf to Ele Prolif, I gave that idea up.
I went to the forums in look for a build but didn't find any I liked. I soon heard about Flame Totem being really good and since it plays just like a trapper, I was sold on it.
Didn't find any build I liked (didn't want to go BM), so I just decided to do my own.

Alot of trial, errors and Regrets later, here I am.


Pros

-Very good clear speed
-Very safe since you can place totems and hide behind them
-No Reflect worries
-Very mobile
-Pretty affordable
-Can run ALL map mods
-Can easily turn it into MF by switching crit gear with MF gear
-Easy to level
-Easy Atziri


Cons

-If you are careless you will get oneshot
-Ele reflect maps can be pain because Totems die fast
-Squishy until later levels

You can choose any of the three really. They are all pretty bad compaired to what other classes got. Totem witches got the short end of the stick this patch.

Occultist adds to survivability with choosing with Void Beacon, Wicked Ward and Vile Bastion.

Elementalist adds situational added damage with choosing Liege of the Primordeal, Pendulum of Destructin and either 2 ele damage nodes or Paragon of Calamity.

Infernal Mantle is the only required item for this build.

It's a perfect item for this build. It gives lots of crit, fire damage and +1 fire gem level wich is super important.
Adds a decent amount of ES aswell.

6L : Flame Totem - Controlled Destruction - Increased Critical Strikes - Fire Penetration - Empower - Elemental Focus
5L : Flame Totem - Fire Penetration - Controlled Destruction - Elemental Focus - Empower

Main-Hand/Off-Hand

What you should look for in a off-hand weapon are the following mods in that order :

Crit Multi
Spell Damage
Cast Speed
Crit Chance
Added flat fire/ele damage

Gem setup

Whirling Blades - Faster Attacks - Fortify
Cast When Damage Taken - Immortal Call - Lightning Golem


Shield

Look for a shield with high ES, Crit Chance, Spell Damage and mabey some restists.

Secondary shield is Saffell's Frame wich we use on Uber Vaals etc

Helm

Look for a Helm with high ES, some life and resists.

Any defensive setup you like.


Gloves

Maligaro's Virtuosity is the best gloves for this build. It has Crit Chance, Crit Multi and some much needed Dex.
Alternatives are Facebreaker Gloves for the High Crit Multi.

Use Doryani's Invitation or any good belt that has res you need and some life.

Life and resists is what I would look for in a belt.



Boots

30 Move speed is mandatory. After that look for Life and resists.

Eva based can give you much needed Dex but I would look for ES base.

We only use Clarity aura but lately I have skipped auras completely and used Clear Mind Jewel for a hefty damage boost. It also has nice mana regen.

Same applies to jewels as other items. We want cast speed first and then Crit Multi, spelldamage etc.

Clear Mind is an option if you skip Clarity aura.

Few tips.

Level few extra Flame Totem gems while levelling. You will want to corrupt them to get a level 21 gem. Extra level on Flame Totem gives you 2-3k+ more dps. You can also just buy one but they are very expensive (15Ex+ if you find anyone selling).

Your main defence is mobility. You will want 30-35% extra move speed. The Totems are super tanky and when you are doing 60k dps, mobs have no time to hit anything.

Have Vaal Haste up for bossfights, it makes them look like Rares.

2.2 Tree :



2.2 Gives us quite a boost to dps in the form of Elemental Focus. 123k in hideout unbuffed and 168k with Vaal Haste and Atziri's Promise is a very nice boost compaired to the original build wich had iirc 75k dps unbuffed.

So I did some videos tonight. Playing on a laptop so it gets a little laggy when recording. Also using a crappy recording software (Screen-O-Matic) so the video quality kinda sucks..

Sorry about that.

What do people generally use when recording? I'll do new videos when I find a better software.

What am i missing, i can only see half of your crit multiplier on gear/tree.

So lets break this down.

Main hand Mace 27%
Maligaro's 42%
Amulet 65%
Increased Critical Damage gem 78%
Crit Multiplier in tree 30%
Crit Multiplier on spells in tree 70%
Crit Multiplier of totems in tree 36%
Critical Multiplier on Jewel 9%

357*1,5 = 535%

Yet I have 686% Multiplier.

I'm not sure where the extra 151% is coming from, I'll have to ask someone who's more knowledgable than me about it.

Ok got the answer now. Thanks Ulysses55!

Here is how it works according to wiki and it matches to tooltip.

Its 150% base + crit multiplier*150% base.

So in our case its 150 + 357*150 = 685.5 which rounds up to 686.

We forgot to add the basic 150%, thats what was missing.

Did a new Atziri video and uploaded on Vimeo.

A typo under Gear and body armour. You say that the flame totem link uses Increased Critical Strkes, that gem is used for crit chance and not crit multi.

I'm currently doing this build. About to be 65 and slap on my Infernal Mantle. Clear speed is amazing. Currently have 593% crit multi. Should be higher, but this whole time until now I've been using Increased Critical Strikes. :p

Survivability is very low however and very concerning. Currently at Highgate with 2.3k hp and 400 es. Anything that touches, hits like a fucking truck. Hopefully that will change when I grab a nice shield and get a few more levels.

And 100% for the vaal haste tip. Everything dies super quick when you pop it.

Oh man sorry about the typo, fixed now! :)

Until you get a decent hp and es pool you need to let mobility be your defense. When you get 5k+ hybrid pool it will get much easier and CwdT setups help a ton aswell.
