[Suggestion] - Hilldrake's Skills Compendium

Hey those are some interesting skills that i've though some days, months ago..!

I just want to clarify before you go to the skills section:

THOSE SKILLS ARE NOT BALANCED.

Please, keep in mind that i want to present ONLY the MECHANICS here. The numbers value of mana cost, damage, increases, reductions, cooldowns, cast speed, requirements, etc etc etc, might be op or undertuned, so don't really pay attention to that !

well, some pretty interesting ideas - most i think are actually balanced (didn't check mana multipliers and cost so far tho)

let me start with ghastly haze:

my personal improvement would be that the portal itself doesn't deal any damage at all, rather that damage is applied to minions that are summoned. second they do not possess enemies but chill them automatically instead. when they expire they can create a small aoe ice nova with low dmg.

now to hammer ward:

skill reminds me of boss in mines lvl 2. nice idea, more or less tho it is the sweep skill converted as a spell

hexing impact:

that's a pretty solid idea, but: hexing impact combining curse on hit in combo with converting dmg to chaos dmg? na, makes no sense too me. and too many benefits on this skill either.

rework it to:
curse applies to first target hit
deals 90 (to 120% of base dmg when lvl 20)
if target dies while being cursed, small aoe spreads curse to nearby targets
50% less curse duration

leave out:
enemies can have additional curse (that's like a dual curse on hit gloves, too op)
cannot be supported by melee splash (see above -> applies on first target hit)

inner strike:

melee, attack, strength - but cannot use melee weapon? well, then let it be unarmed in description

focus:

too many nerfs, so no benefit on this gem. apply maybe -50 to -25% less dmg (on lvl 20, quality improves this to -15% on 20 quality)

homing:

well, that exists already as a mod from masters: projectile attacks return to you ..
so if you want to make it into a support gem, i'd give it a REALLY heavy mana multi like gmp - around 160%. additionally start at lvl 0 with 20% less proj speed and go for no nerf at lvl 20. quality improves proj dmg by 10% for 20 quality


for the rest - no idea so far

Inner strike,
it's a Unarmed Skill only, that's why it can't be used with melee weapons =)

Ghastly haze,
the portal doesn't deals damage at all. It's a channeling skill, like incinerate. But i didn't want to make it 100% equal to Incinerate. Only the minions does cold damage overtime (Idk if there's a skill that does that yet, is there ?), and the portal will last until you stop channeling it or until you run out of mana =).

Hexing Impact,
it's pretty op, i agree with you ! I did the chaos damage conversion because i feel that it's a lot chaos damage skills missing in the game.

Homing,
doesn't work like the "Projectile Attacks Return to you" this is more like a "boomerang effect" Homing will seek nearby enemies even if you shot in totally opposite direction. That's almost like an arc, but without being instant. That's why it reduces projectile speed.

Focus,
I nerfed this skill to the ground because you can support it with Faster projectiles. But i agree with you that reduced attack/cast speed isn't necessary. I would remove that.

my suggestion for chaos dmg skill (cgi a bit like cleave maybe)




plus the (OP) corrupted version, i made it op just to have a vaal skill for once that doesn't need at least 32 souls per use ...
