I also really like your build. Have been looking for voltaxic rift builds ever since one dropped for me, and yours impress me the most.

Do you have any ideas on how to incorporate a drillneck in this build? or is it not viable?

drillneck is good for builds based on pierce, for chain it would be bad practice. Your projectile can chain from mob or just pierce and fly away. Thats why I think u should sell drillneck if u wanna play with LA+chain ;)

OR! Another variant: use Ice Shot without chain. I think its also viable, but maybe clear speed will be a little slower. (cause AOE from chain >> AOE from IS+Pierce)
Do you think lightning coil would be good for this build once one can afford it? It even adds lightning damage!

LC is perfect for this build, but you need very good equipment to compensate -60% Light.Resistance.
what do you think about Daresso's Defiance? more dogde, more life leech, endurance charge for more reduce physic damage more IC duration and also can remove innervate for add lightning or crit multi
Can this build be done as non-crit? For additional hp?

u can try. I created this build like "ultracheap" to make lvl100. 6L daresso cost more then corrupted 6l armour :D I think daresso is good variant, but coil - the best.

I changed innervate to crit multi on maps with Ailments Immunity :)

noncrit version is really bad compared to crit.

Like Lightning Arrow gives more chaos damage through physical to lightning conversion, has a nice AOE with the lightning strikes around the target but loses damage with greater multiple projectiles + chain.
Split Arrow has better tooltip DPS because it only loses damage from chain but doesn't need greater multiple projectiles (thus having more damage) but it gets less chaos damage because of no conversion and has worse AOE capabilitys.
Frenzy would lose damage from greater multiple projectiles and chain but gives more damage and attackspeed but less chaos damage.

Etc. etc. etc.

It would be nice to hear more about your thought about the different skills.

Ok I will describe, as I see.
Lightning Arrow:
50% phys to lightning its waste, my phys damage is only from bow base and that's extremely low :D
Most important reason why I prefer LA is "Hits up to 3 additional enemies near the target".
Lets see perfect situation when each arrow reaches target.

Lightning Arrow:
1. LA + GMP = 5 arrows = 5 hits
2. Chain 2 times = 5 hits * 2 = 10 hits
3. And then lets calculate hits with secondary "Hits 3 additional enemies near the target": (5+10)*3=45 total hits from 1 skill use.
Also +additional chance to shock from quality gem LA.

Split arrow:
1. Split = 10 arrows
2. Chain two times = 10*2 from chain = 20 hits.
3. So, total 30 hits. And this can happen if ALL 10 arrows reached the target. But more often happens that only half of arrows (from split arrow) reaches the targets. so 15-20hits is more real picture.

So we have two total dmgs (where X and Y is tooltip dmg):
LA total dmg: X*45*150%(from shock)
SA total dmg: Y*30

So I think tooltip on split should be x2 or maybe x3 from LA to make an equiv real AoE dps.
Also 30 hits from 1 use split - it's unreal. Usually only 5-6 arrows reach the target.


Maybe I am wrong, but this is my opinion. Also sorry for bad eng :)
