[2.1] Voltaxic LA by ad1ce (Talisman Rank 3)

So I just hit 90 yesterday (in SC Tali) and I love this build.
Doing some pretty risky maps I finally hit 90.

I experiemented alot with the tree and for SC I hate going for the scion lifewheel..its so far away and I think I'm fine with 5k HP and LC.
It takes some skill, but so far I did up to tier 13 maps with relative ease, I died a couple times to my driver failing (AMD -.-) and ONE oneshot from a beyond mob that I still don't understand since I died in under 0,5sec.
Aside from that, pretty much everything is doable, my gear is not super good, alot of improvement can be made.
I think its possible to hit 5,5K HP without the scion wheel.
Sitting @17K LA DPS with 7frenzy and 3power.
I really want the acendency calss trees now... Voltaxic with higher basecrit will be insane.
AH and I did Atziri like 4 times, 3 of them deathless pretty easy on this char.

For those of you using snakebite, do you really find it worth it? I really don't like the idea -70% frenzy charges duration.

It cancels out with nodes so its about 6-7sec duration. I use a 1link frenzy to refresh on bosses but the dps boost is definitely there. If you can use gg attack speed/accuracy/flat gloves and drop fatal toxins for other dps nodes it might be just as good though.

P.S. Actually you might want to keep fatal toxins at least for single target on blast rain.

I haven't played with surgeon's flasks since before the nerf. How do you guys feel they hold up now? I would imagine it probably isn't very good at all since we only have ~30% crit.

Things arent so bad, actually.

If you invest points into ALL frenzy charge duration nodes (it will cost you 3 points extra compared to OK build), you'll have 12 seconds frenzy charge duration with 7 frenzy charges. Not impressive, but long enough for most players.

I use snakebite cause
1. Default poison deals 20% of my total damage (cause i have 99% pure chaos damage)
2. With passives poison deals 40+% of my total damage (maybe more, dunno how to test) but this information is not displayed on tooltip. But I see how bosses lose life from poison and its not so bad
3. Good accuracy bonus and attack speed.
4. Easy to switch gloves for another snakebite with colors/links for party gaming (with vaal auras as example, drop CoH cause have curser in party)

but there are few minuses:
- 7 seconds frenzy duration, so i should use frenzy gem (in my situation it is my single target skill cause I am very used to it).
- drop maligaros, so not so much crit rate/multiplier...
- 3 points for passive nodes with poison.


u also can use blast rain for single target, i think its really cool now.

BTW, from what i read from GGG, GMP/Chain should apply their penalty to poison too... Is posion still impressive despite of that for AoE?

Poison is based on the damage of the hit, it doesn't interact with gmp/chain directly.

Support gems affect ALL effects of the skill. Poison is one of them.
Chain provides "less damage" modifier. IT will be applied to all skill's effects, including poison.

Projectile damage is "general" damage and is applied to ALL damage made by projectile (attack, spell, DoT, etc). GMP provides "less projectile damage" penalty. Since Projectile damage is "general" damage type, its modifier will be applied to ALL effects made by projectile, including DoTs like Bleed or Poison (or Caustic Arrow's cloud, or Exlosive Arrow's explosion).

So, you're wrong, Chain/GMP DO interact with poison directly (GMP - only for projectiles, though).
