[2.2] Poor Mans Guide to Bows - 114K DPS and Atziri on a 5L

Ok, nice guide. In fact, very nice guide. All your information is correct. Most importantly, you have realized that lightning arrow is the best bow skill ever :P

P.S. This also does a very good job of explaining why lioneye's is far from trash.
For try, for see, and for know.

how do you sustain mana?
What is a good level for "cast when dmg taken" gem in the setup with "Blood Rage" "immortal call" "increased duration"?

what level should these gems be optimally?
Not bad. Few things I can help you with.

Daresso doesn't work with immortal call. Easy to test, if you are getting onslaught you are not getting the immortal call bonus. If you are getting immortal call bonus, you have to be doing something different than me. I couldn't get it to work after 2.0.

I don't think you are giving increased critical damage enough love. Remember that Assassins Mark is a MORE modifier.

Reflect packs may not be a thing, but reflect maps are certainly still there. This is where Physical to Lightning gem gets even more fun. I found you need about 70% damage conversion to be immune to reflect maps. Possibly more if you got the big boy deeps.

I didn't see trap gem :(. Trap + Point Blank = yum. Sure dps is low, but who needs dps when you can just bring the d. Very possible to one shot bosses. Damage can't be reflected either.

I didn't see life leech gem. This can save passive points and allows you to leech off your elemental damage. 50% lightning arrow, 30% hatred, 15% herald of ash, yea bows do some sick elemental damage too.

Then there is the old school Life Gain on Hit for Lightning Arrow. Very much needed if you are doing a leech immune map.

I take the three mana leech nodes down the bottom right of the tree with the notable Spirit void. This provides enough mana leech + mana gain on hit to sustain attack indefinitely provided you're actually hitting.

I run mine at level 9-10 so that I get a decent duration of the immortal call while still allowing it to go off consistantly

Seems to work fine for me, I am getting both immortal call and onslaught. As mentioned I have my CWDT at a lowish level to make sure it triggers.

Yes I probably should mention that you can run full phys reflect maps if you use lightning arrow and phys to lightning which will convert all of your phys to ele. But I usually just reroll those maps anyway. Having to recolor sockets is freaking annoying.

I find that using daresso's plus the LL of the tree that I am leeching enough life not to worry about LL Gem or Life Gain on hit. Maybe for reflect maps but as I said I don't usually run them.

I have to correct myself sorry.

Cast when damage taken + immortal call should not work with daresso. You should be getting both immortal call and onslaught, your immortal call should not be getting the bonus from endurance charges though.

I'll admit, I could be totally wrong. Pre 2.0 you would not get onslaught, but you would increase the duration of immortal call.

Hey,

Great guide!

I'm currently trying this out in warbands. What kind of passive progression would you take? As in, which should you bee line for?

Hi!

Read your guide sounds great! really AWESOME read and very refreshing commentary compared to many of the other builds out there!

Just wondering would you be adding in a leveling portion as well? such as what nodes to take at certain levels and what skills would be good to use while progressing?

Would greatly help any beginners who reads your guide!

Other than that I think your guide once again was an awesome read and very detailed! hope to see a snippet of it through a video soon! thanks so much!

I've added to the passive tree section.
