It seems to be that this gem is rather weak when compared to the mana leech one. They both fill similar roles yet one is much better.

Unavailable Agreed. 10% at level 1, lets assume it gets +1% per level ( wouldn't be surprised if it's lower ). That would put it at -30% at level 20. -30% is simply not enough to warrant wasting an entire slot. Mana leech will always win for main DPS skills, and -30% is not enough for debuffs & summons to make a difference ( not that those spells tend to be mana drain anyway ). Either boost it significantly, level 20 should be like at least around the 65% area. I'd also like to see a straight up -flat mana cost reduction. Simply because it would open up alternative builds to mana leech. If there was a spell which was cast super fast with low mana cost but high mana drain per / time, then such a gem would be good & interesting. Some items in this post are currently unavailable.

Unavailable Edit: I get it now... Instead of for example, 150% increased cost, it is 90%, which means it decreases mana costs by 10%. Last edited by Tertium_Quid#1793 on Mar 19, 2012, 3:53:50 PM

does it works with auras (with flat and percentage values)?

This gem seems to be for supporting auras and curses really and Mana leech is for damage skills.
