*-*[2.2 PHC] Dual Wield Molten Claw Striker -T15 Twin Tank -225K Shotgun - 78%/78% block -Budget*-*
Build no longer usable:
2.6 patch notes: Essentia Sanguis: Added Lightning Damage mod increased to 1-200. Now is on a Vaal Claw base type. (% life leech instead of LGoH) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Required Gear (example): HC Leveling: Build Inspiration/Goals: - Create a dual wield character that can block - Strong ascendancy enchantment "2 Additional Molten Strike Projectiles" grants ~50% more molten strike skill damage - Utilize Life gain on hit claws and Mana gain on hit jewels/passives to replace nerfed life/mana leech - Essentia Sanguis changed implicit from 2% life leeched on hit to +31 life gained on hit , 1 chaos cost, Ghost reaver no longer has a downside - 10% less physical projectile attack speed from physical projectile attack damage gem doesn't apply to molten strike as it is a melee skill first. - Molten strike projectiles do 50% more damage on average with buffed point blank keystone - Multistrike + Flat physical damage gear synergize well with Essentia Claw base attack speed - Create melee build so we can use fortify gem effectively * Can run any vaal'd map/map mod including the boss Pros/Cons:

Pros:
- Gladiator ascendancy offers perfect synergy with this build for 2.2 - Great DPS (especially against monsters with large hitbox) - Extremely fast life recovery - Can run any map mod (reflect, no life/mana regen, no leech, fracture, etc) - Budget - Easy and Safe to Level Cons: - Will not have fast white/blue mob clear speed in comparison to other builds due to nature of molten strike skill (projectiles must go up before they come down) Items:

This build is an absolute pleasure to level. Molten strike is gained from the first quest. Life Gain on hit gem (which can be used until Multistrike is gained at level 38) and Physical Projectile Attack Damage are all gained before getting far into act 2. Fortify is gained in act 3 merciless. Strong passives like Dervish and Fury bolts can be obtained before level 15. Honestly all you need is those two passives with a 4L piece of equipment and you are good self found until level 35. Advancing fortress claw (15% block/+50 life) is a perfect compliment to this build and ensures safe leveling in cruel and merciless. Make a bee-line towards point blank, 50% more damage is invaluable. Start heading towards ranger after that. For your weapons. - At level 36 dual wield two mightflay daggers (we have no claw specific passives so its fine to use a dagger, these particular ones have +10 life gained on hit each) - At level 46 dual wield two advancing fortress claws - At level 64 put on one advancing claw / one essentia sanguis claw - At ~level 76 (or at 70/70 block) put on two essentia sanguis claws As a general rule for gameplay the idea is to get close to mobs to ensure they are in enfeeble/riposte range and maximize the AOE coverage of molten strike. The gameplay is very simple, pop flask slots 2 to 5 and whirling blade into a pack of mobs and start spamming molten strike. You are pretty much immortal and can facetank 95% of game content (you can facetank dominus thunder punch, voll hammer strike, village ruin charge but if they have added damage or crit mods i would recommend dodging them) Here are my recommended leveling passive trees: 30 points spent 60 points spent 80 points spent Ascendancy Passives

Sounds like an awsome build, gonna try it out! only lvl 4 so far tho so still a long way to go :P, would be awsome with a full guide, unsure of best way to place the passives when I lvl tho, but did my own break down and calculated abit about the thoughness I will need at certain lvls, but if u make a full guide of this I think it will be awsome! and thanks for sharing the build! :)

Almost similar to my own build (and guide).
However, i dont understand, why you choose Essetia Sanguis, when you can just get a rare claw with same APS, same LGoH, same or greater DPS on it and increased Critical Strike Chance. You can also get a Gemini claw and forget about mana totally! And you can use Life leech with rares. Iron Grip is also a poor choice. You'll have around 150-180 str, that converts to 30-36% increased projectile damage, for 2 nodes. If you get more str, you get it instead of valuable resist or accuracy or int roll. It isnt really worth it, i think. Overall, you simply get TOO FEW life nodes on your tree. A melee build with +132% increased maximum life??? WUT? Even casters get no less than 150%, and melee should have 200%+. I have almost 5200 life, and still take one-shots from devourers with 1-2 damage mods sometimes, in high-level maps. Imagine what they'll do with your 4400 HP. Having some block is good, by why even bother with it, when your main problem is oneshots, and block does nothing with it? In summary, i believe when you optimize your build, it will be just a variation of the one i posted there. Maybe it would be better to combine them into one? " Thanks man. If I update it I will try to put in a leveling section. For now, grab iron rings and the projectile and dual wielding nodes early they are amazing. You can use blood magic too for leveling if you find you are having mana issues as its right beside iron grip. Mightflay --> Ornament of the east are great cheap items for leveling. " I just read your guide , I want to say great minds think alike, there had not been any molten strike builds posted let alone a similar claw LGoH one. Also you definitely know your stats and have good game knowledge (43% PB, shotgunning effects, etc) I do feel like you are trying to mudsling a little bit with your reply and I do like my build so I will counter, you say I have 150 str when the screenshots show 300. Also you say physical one shots are an issue for me, but your guide doesn't use enduring cry which is a 20% physical reduction, rallying cry does give insane dps with crit builds though. I truly believe your build is definitely a higher budget build because it is more crit focused, we can differentiate on that fact. For example, a rare 250+ pdps Gemini claw with crit rolls is a couple ex on shop threads right now. A 5l hyrris with 4 off colours is very expensive too. Take this as a positive comment :) Last edited by link1313#3590 on Aug 2, 2015, 6:00:14 AM

" I use gem swaps when needed. When i face dangerous map, i can easily swap my Rallying Cry fro Enduring Cry. I swap Herald of Thunder for Arctic Armour on hard-hitting bosses too. In my opinion. you dont have to use a single skill/gem setup all the time. Yes, you got 300 STR, i see that, but you need around 150 to use skills, etc, and you dont get more from tree. So you get more STR from gear, and that always mean you sacrifice valuable suffix slots. that's what i meant. About Hyrri - bought it for 3 exa, divined once and then rolled colours myself. I didnt spend many chroms BTW, 200-300 probably... A pity i couldnt use Vorici's help with THAT sort of 5-link... I am not sure Hyrri is the best choice there, just wanted to try it. Maybe, Belly, Daresso or LC will be better. Or even just good rare chest. I try to get as much tankiness as i can for good reasons - Molten Strike mechanics one of them. Unlike most other skills, Molten Strike doesnt hit enemies instantly (well, it does, but only single foes, and with low DPS). There is a delay around 1 second before projectiles will explode and deal you main damage. So, you should ensure you survive that 1 second :). Also, as a melee, you should be as tanky as it only possible, because enemies WILL hit you in your face. I dont use expensive claws or gear (except chest, but that's true for any build), i got mine for several chaos for piece. Sure, thay arent optimal (APS could be higher), but their DPS is still far better than Essentia Sanguis (and i can use life leech from belt). Despite my build is crit-oriented, that doesnt affect budget much, because it gives great feedback with almost no investments. You dont have to put on various crit items to make it effective, just proper weapons, 1-2 accuracy mods on gear and amulet with crit multiplier. Physical to lightning is a great gem for crit build. It not just adds some extra lightning damage, but also allows 100% usage of WED gem and mods on gear. And it allows to shock enemies reliably, because THAT lightning damage (added+converted) is noticeable. And i meant no offence to you... Sorry. I was just confused, i even asked to add my build to build list, and some1 still posts pretty the same build there. When i was posting mine, i ensured thee is nothing similar posted, not just for duelist, but also for other classes. IGN: MortalKombat

Yo again, abit of a update!, I love the build more and more, I'm lvl 62 atm so only 2 levels left until I can use my 2 sanguis, but ye I used 2 redbeaks until lvl 12 then I used 2 wildslash then at 26 I used 2 Al Dhih and at lvl 46 I swapped to 2 Ornament of the east, I think Have become abit cocky in the build, only have about 2.3k HP, haven't taken many life nodes yet but I will take alot of them in my comming lvls.
my current defence stats unbuffed: 2333 HP 8263 Evasion rating, 60% chance to evade attacks 40% chance to dodge attacks 30% chance to dodge spells 17% chance to block attacks (within 3 more passives I will get 4% more) I get hit about once every 20th attack from mobs, just did Vaal oversoul in merci and didn't even get hit once by him or his adds and even when I do get hit by mobs I have around 40% dmg reduction cuz of fortify and 5 edurance charges, and if I feel like I have way to many mobs on me at the same time or if someone actully would hurt me I just pop a evasion flask and vaal grace for even more chance to dodge and evade which takes me to about 65-69% dodge on attakcs, 59% on spells and 73% on evade. Mana where an issue in the beginning but isn't anymore with pochersmark + 2 mana gain on hit jewels. One question aswell, Is there any specifik lvl you recommend for the 2 CWDT setups? Thanks alot for the guide! I have really fallen in love with this build! Last edited by Nyraya#5925 on Aug 3, 2015, 2:23:21 AM

good , my next build . its rare to see good build abble to beat atziri .

" Thats awesome man, glad to hear you are loving it. You are leveling quick too. Both CWDT gems are at level 3 and the casted skills are at or below level 42 requirement. I found using one granite flask helps too, granite flask makes armour go from 20 to 40% where another jade flask takes evade from 50% to 65%. Did you end up using blood magic at all while leveling? How's it going now? Last edited by link1313#3590 on Aug 4, 2015, 1:07:06 AM
