Cheapest Slot to replace and get something better for DPS is the amulet:

Get something with high physical damage, crit chance, crit multi.

Then.. get a Abyssus!

After that i´d try to replace the sword, yours has 211 DPS atm, which isn´t too bad but one with about the same dps and 7,5 Crit chance or more would really boost your dps.

I could need some help. I want to upgrade my gear for this char but I don't know where to best incest my currency. Overall I feel pretty vulnerable and sometimes even die on the lowest maps :(
I don't own much currency (1ex 40c). Maybe 2 ex more, depending on sells...

So I hope that someone could give me tips how to improve my gear as best as possible with this little currency.

Yeah from looking at the pics i´d say you really need to fix your resi!

Also some of your gear could use lots more life, like the belt, your chest could use more AR or EV and best investment would be a nice 5L imho.

with a 250 dps sword with a 7ish crit chance, what would be better spend ex on.
a 6 L chest, better sword or deaths hand?

If its 250 physical dps that should be fine and not a priority to upgrade.

Then it depends on the League you are in for the price of 6L and price of Death Hand if you are in Warbands and can grab a Death hand for 4-6 ex i´d say do that.

Another factor is how good your current armour is. If it has nice life and Armour and the upgrade would only be for DPS, i´d say a Deaths Hand does more for DPS than the 6. Link.

If you need more AR and Life and resi, then get a nice chest, if you get a 6L it will also be a nice DPS upgrade.

Splurged on the deaths hand, holy god that thing is nice.

I honestly never did a build with BoR.

You will have less AR because you are missing a chest for AR and get a lot less damage.

Overall it could still work, as you dont suffer the abyssus drawback.
