Hi, did not read the entire threat so sorry if someone already mentioned this, but using Energy From Within + Melding passive turns "life / ES" cluster in pure ES), this would boost defense greatly?

I also changed the passive tree dropping some dps for more survivability, you also pointed out getting stunned so there are three handy passives at start in witch, let me know what you think off it. Spending 4 points to get 1 jewel slot is kinda waste imo.

Energy within jewel is already mentioned yes. Either Eye of chayula or kaom boots is mandatory for this build, so imo practical application is a waste.
Im currently sitting at 18.5 dps and 11.8k ES with eye of chayula. using Kaom, with rare amu ( cast spd, max energy shield, - cost of mana ) i get around 20k dps and 10k es.

Energy From Within works nicely with Melding cluster. If you're low on ES, i recommend taking it.
There's an opportunity cost that need to be taken into account, however. If you already have 8+k ES, its better using rare dps jewel since its unlikely you'll die with that much es. Taking from softcore player perspective.


About +1 gems 5L mantle, with introduction of void manipulation, 6L non corrupted mantle gives more dps. Ofc, +1 6L mantle is a bis item.

With new occultist ascendancy class, it might be possible to drop chayula (or roots) for Elreon amulet, which might allow dropping reduced mana for faster casting or at least iron will.
I'll test it out when ascendancy hits and update the guide.

Also, Occultist is the best ascendancy class for the build, notables 'Void Beacon', 'Wicked Ward' and 'Vile Bastion' are really good for the build. I'll probably test a Shadow class too, there's potential for one of those being better then witch, but i cant say before i test the mechanics.

Is this viable at all without Infernal Mantle? I dumped all my currency into crafting a CI chest for this build before the nerf, so I really want to keep using my current chest.

I'm currently running this as ES regen build, about 2.6k/sec, with aegis block, but the dps is lacking. Tanky though.

Thanks in advance. Is it worth following this build if your only getting 75% fire to chaos conversion with the dagger.

No, build will work just as well as it did before.

Use 2x Consuming Dark, drop shield and infernal mantle and get an ES chest with 700+es instead, get more ES nodes instead of dmg nodes and compensate by use anger (since without mantle going on low mana is not a problem anymore).

Also, since i'm writing in this thread already, best ascendancy might be occultist, but i'm also considering some scion and assassin shenanigans. Depending on the results, i might ask mods to move the thread to scion or shadow subforums.

Build wont get updated for the first week of the league since i always play temp leagues and time in first week is quite valuable.
