You're lucky. I have the same FPS drop but when playing solo without casting anything. I have a really decent laptop as i'm travelling right now, and the simple fact to approach a pack of mob put me down to 2 FPS with crappy settings.
All was fine before 2.2.1e and the first wave of "optimisation" -_- Maker of ZeeL's Amplifier.

yup a full party is always nasty fps-wise. got a quite good pc solo fps 400-500 in full party 5-30
