[2.0] Blink & Mirror Arrow Scion - Cheap and Effective!

@dariidar

Sure, that does make sense; however how are you sure that they don't get damage from, for instance, "x% increased physical damage with bows"? Are all the minions in the game consistently dependent only on modifiers that have the Minion keyword (and on modifiers that affect everything of course; how about Frenzy charges?)?

I wish the game was more transparent about these interactions :(
@dariidar

Wow, is it true that there is an attack speed cap? Then I have to rethink a whole lot about my build. Flesh offering already felt like it wasn't doing much, but Vaal Haste felt like a boost. Maybe because of the cast speed...

EE with ice shot seems fantastic. And to be honest I haven't considered my accuracy - oops. Alpha's Howl can wait, time to fix my bow/quiver combination!

I was also thinking about using Zombies, but didn't have any spare sockets. But if flesh offering and vaal haste are useless, I can just put them there.
Tested the attack speed cap. It's true.

There is an attack speed cap of 10 shots over 5.70 seconds. Which is 1.75 aps.
With an 52% increased duration gem, I have a cap of 13 shots over 7.26 seconds. Which is 1.79 aps.

However, with those amounts of attack speed, I do not reach the maximum amount of arrows.
With both durations, 1.87 aps was not enough and 1.91 aps was enough to reach maximum arrows.
Also, with less attack speed, the cap was reached too early with respect to the duration - with 1.5 aps 8 arrows should be possible in 5.33 seconds, but the mirror was only able to put out 7 arrows.

So there seems to be a small delay + an attack speed cap?

With just 20% minion attack speed nodes you need an effective 1.59 aps bow. Your Lioneye's + additional arrow quiver setup seems to be the best.
What's even better about the additional arrow quiver is, you don't need to use LMP - instead you can socket in a damage gem! so instead of losing some damage from LMP gem, you instead gain a multiplier, which is huge. The +1 quiver also allows you to support your Ice Shot with Chain, which makes it much easier to curse/EE an entire room of monsters.

+1 arrow quivers are not too expensive, I saw some for 20c the other day. There are plenty on Warbands, you can probably haggle the prices very easily because there's not much demand for the crappier ones. Just make sure that the quiver doesn't have any fire or lightning damage on it, because that will prevent you from using EE with your iceshot cursing setup.

I've been trying to use other bows. I tried Null's Inclination briefly, but our damage is too low to reliably cull enemies. You can also try using elemental bows but that prevents you from being able to use Ice Shot to apply EE. The -resists from EE are simply so strong that it outweighs the dps that any elemental bow + quiver can give you. So you should probably use a fast phys bow. However, the 100% chance to hit from Lioneyes is simply stronger than any other physical bow in existence. And it lets you curse reliably without grabbing Resolute Technique.

I think I've converged on the sweet spot for support gems, which I've updated since my previous post:

Boots (Deerstalkers)
-Mirror Arrow
-Multiple Traps
-Minion Damage
-CHAIN

Chain is amazing with the +1 quiver! If you have a quality Mirror arrow and quality Chain, the minions' projectile speed is so high that arrows will chain to offscreen mobs. This aids one of the limitations of mirror arrow: the clones cannot move. I use this setup purely for clearing packs of monsters, and it often blows up 2 packs (1 offscreen) at once.

Chest
-Mirror Arrow
-Blink Arrow
-Minion Damage
-WED
-Added Lightning

I realized that Added Lightning will give me more DPS than Phys to Lightning gem. Why do I use both Mirror and Blink in the same 5L together? Well, there's no room for the other gem elsewhere (helmet is zombie/golem tanks, gloves is auras, and bow is curses). Furthermore, using a second blink/mirror in that 5L will give you more dps than any other support gem ever could.

So the way it goes is: trap to blow up mobs, use mirror/blink arrow on single targets. Curse/EE when shit is on cooldown. Zombies/golem are a wall of meat that rarely need to be resummoned.

Now clearing 76 maps with ease, level 85! I believe that my clearspeed is on par with most other summoner types, maybe a tad slower than srs but idk for sure. I will attempt atziri soon.

Good build, quick question which bandits did u pick?
Interesting concept, I'll keep an eye on it as youse guys finish hashing things out.
Got myself a 5L Lioneye's cheap (was corrupted with the right colors). Clear speed increased immensly, so I suppose it will be best in slot.

I agree with you that an additional arrow quiver would be best, but I'd like to have one with a lot of health as well and those are expensive.

Using zombies now, but skill gem is still lvl 17 (in +2 levels to minion gems helm, so total lvl 19). They feel pretty tanky already. Supporting them with Fortify, Minion Damage and Minion Life.

Atziri is going easy now, I am getting the hang of dodging things.

@jdvalencia: Oak(Health), Skill point, Skill point

Will update guide when I get to try out ele equilibrium / +arrow quiver.
Recorded a crappy gorge run to show you what it looks like to play this build.

My computer really sucks though so I apologize for the low quality.

I ran it in about 4 minutes, with less mistakes I could shave it down to 3:40 or 3:30.

Will this build ever be a super-speed map clearer? Probably not.

But is it safe, cost-effective, and reliable against the majority of rares, bosses, and map mods? Hell yes.

Tried the build and like it so far. Very nice, thank you, Moonypoony!

I'm (a noob and) still confused about the right gem setup. Currently I use
- Blink Arrow + Trap + Multi Trap (Chest) and
- Mirror Arrow + Ranged Attack Totem (Bow).
So I get about 6 - 8 copies of myself. Plus auras, curses, warcries, etc.

But how can I get better? Here's what I think of:

1. Use Trap + Multitrap with Mirror Arrow, too. So I need two support Traps and two Multitraps.
2. Use Trap, Multitrap, Mirror Arrow, and Blink Arrow all in one item - and only two slots left at best for +damage
3. Go ahead using Ranged Attack Totem

Which one is best? And why? Is any of 1. or 2. not working at all? Because of what?
