More ranged weapon types!
I agree that more ranged weapons should be in place for Dex based class builds. Even the number of types of bow are rather few.
Crossbows, Throwing Knives, Throwing Axes/Tomahawks, Javelins/Spears, Slings, and Shuriken-type weapons would be very awesome. That said, I would like to see many more other weapon types implemented as well such as STR & DEX based Flails (1h), nunchaku (1h), Segmented staves (2h), and other chain-type weapons like Kusarigama. Kusarigama: Bare minimum, there should be crossbows, and that could be a str/dex thing. Logically speaking, you have to be rather strong to draw back a medieval style crossbow without a tool. See device below: This could be an off-hand device for crossbows that acts much like the quivers for bows, if they chose to implement it. Each category of cocking lever improving attack speed further would make them pair well with crossbows. Then making crossbows by themselves noticeably slower to fire, but hitting with more damage per hit (compared to a bow of the same quality) would make the combination of both about on-par with current archers in-game, but allow players a whole new route to take with their character, if they so choose. |
