I feel as if this is unintended though and wont be around for long so I will look for alternative choices.

you do that, until then i´ll stick with ball lightning + curse on hit + frostbite + assassins mark + poachers mark, which works great for me :)

however im only in merciless act 1 and i got a really low dps at the moment.

I might have misunderstood something or be a complete noob, but I am having a hard time understanding why you mention using life leech as part of the 6 sockets on whispering ice since we're going CI and have... well... 1 life?
I do however understand that we need life leech untill we hit 70-80 and switch over to CI.

Hello!

This looks like an awesome build and I finally got enough currency in Tempest to try it out.

I just wanted to ask a couple of questions:

1. Would you consider going down to Unwavering Stance through Scion or is Cast when Stunned a good enough defense vs stun? It has a CD of 0.25sec so if you are getting hit and stunned, it pretty much gives 100% IC up-time, correct?

What about spell attacks, could that stun lock => kill you (if it manages to hit whilst you are not casting)

2. So this build is slightly better for leveling and cheaper than your trap build. If money isn't an issue and leveling will prolly be done with something else anyway, would you still recommend the trap version (for high level maps and hopefully eventual Atziri)?

3. I was under the impression that Herald of Ice only works with Curse on Hit after it's "explosion" but not as added damage, is that not the case? If so, doesn't that make the set-up a little inefficient? By the time you apply curses, everything will be dead and it wont apply to single target bosses, no?

BTW I'm doing really good with a low level Clarity gem!
Get 1 or 2 gems with +% mana regen and at about ~110mana/s (with clarity) you are pretty much self-sustained.

1. IC Kicks in if you get stunned to help you survive. No need for Unwavering and our Tree has no points to spare. Spells can stun you as well.

2. I personally enjoy this one to start but the Trap build does have a much higher damage cap. It's mostly just choice though which play style you prefer there are things like HoI that don't work with the trap version.

3. You are right. That's why we have 3 Charge Generating Curses. So when things die we get each of the 3 Charges. Wouldn't work on single target bosses with no mobs. But better than nothing. Bosses are the easy part smack temp chains and enfeeble and they can't kill you.

Great build! currently doing a slight variation of your build on Tempest with ZO and which later going to use dualcurse Frostbite and Temp chain. Also utilizing the Call of the brotherhood ring combined with HoL and added lighting gem instead of FC.

I like it there are some things I never though of and some things I didn't have because it didn't work with my trap build (what this used to be) and forgot to add back in. The ranger Stun and Mana is so close and a great pick up and if I get some more Aura Nodes I can get HoL to apply the charge curses as well making it more efficient.
