Ok, so what's the way to kill Piety in Bowels of the Beast?

I was frustrated as hell too.
Then again they did warn us that they will ramp up the difficulty of encounters,so i expected the a4 bosses to be a pain,which is perfectly fine,the hardest part is to figure out what they do when there is nowhere to research beforehand,and know what to bring.
Dominus looks like a sissy compared to piety in a4 and all that comes after her^^

Also a good idea is to not gun for the boss but slack around it and watch what he/she does :P

I feel your pain OP. I wish I had something better to tell you than "flame totem it is" but I don't. Not yet anyway. At some point I'll have learned her fight well enough to see alternate methods of killing but atm this is it for me.

Also in HC and rip to her once in beta once in tempest, so Piety has my number for the time being lol.

Edit: A4N down, as is Piety. I can now remove her specter that was hovering over my psyche like a bad cold I couldn't get rid of. lol P_p

Had no problem with her on my arc templar.....dropping a 3 linked flame totem in a +1 scepter and running around in circles.

Incinerate build here on Tempest League/Hardcore. After fast logging out to stay alive I found this thread.

After reading this thread I killed here no problems in Cruel difficulty.

Just stand beside her... as beam is moving down (and or up... whatever works for you) just walk through her. I had enough time to attack between each move.

Max out Lightening resist and take removes bleeding flasks.

Just tank it, doesn't even hit that hard.

You should have about 5k hp by the time you get to her in normal.

edit: Sorry didn't realize this was softcore, just corpse run.

A few things:
1) Piety's beam always goes clockwise from the starting position, and it has a lot of windup time. Stay close to her and 'chase' the beam for best results.

2) In higher difficulties she spams out more of those lightning buzzsaw things. To avoid those while the beam is going, either run through piety herself or use a movement skill to get around the beams.

Just move between attacks while chasing the beam and you should be fine.

Recently tested Malformation (76 map) piety's damage. I decided to tank the last beam before I killed her. It did about 5K damage over about a second, which I healed quickly and removed the degen with a flask.

If you are going to get caught by the beam, run through it to take as little damage as possible (less time in the beam).

Also, if you are a cycloner, this boss is very easy. You just stay within range and spin, avoiding the beam, and she falls quickly enough.
