[2.0] Mjolner life based Rainbownuke witch, !!Deathless 82 Core/Uber!!

The +1 voids are good for uber and some endgame maps with op ele dmg i guess, also u don't need enlighten lvl 4 or the extra 4% reduce mana node with it, and u get a little extra armour from grace. I am saving my currency for this :P.

Was insanely hard/expensive to get but was worth it!

Congratulation sir! :D Did the gloves come with the label "This item has a hidden stat"? If not, read about it below ;)

That is also true. However you loose out on a lot of life/chaos res/acc/attackspeed / etc. which to me seems to be better on paper but I could be wrong.
The only downside of Voidbringers is lack of Life, but otherwise they synergize with this build like a dream:

Voidbringer +1
Pros:
1) Level 23 Auras without Empower. The difference between 98% and 99% resistance is significant, as someone kindly posted earlier.
2) Without Empower we save 1 socket slot. Grace level 22 happily greases that slot all day :D.
3) Without Empower less mana is reserved. This saves us passive aggressive points.
4) Only Enlighten level 3 is needed, saving ~20 Exa which, in part, mitigates jacked up prices for Void +1.
5) Crit for spells across the board

Cons:
1) No Life. These gloves have a hidden stat: Player has 50% increased chance to have no life while wearing these gloves *tongue in cheek*

Rare gloves
Pros:
- Major benefit of using Rare gloves:
1) Life roll. These have a hidden stat too: Your chance to have a life suffers from diminishing returns due to sunrise-to-sunset POE sessions. :D

- Minor benefits of using Rare gloves:
1) Attack speed. My favorite stat, though it doesn't justify dropping all of the goodies Void+1 provides.
2) Accuracy. While more is better, I personally sit at 87% chance to hit and in Core 82 have no trouble hitting Malachai's steroid-shrunken nutsack (please tell me you've noticed, no one has that kinda voice without juicing up :D) Malachai: Talking dirty while on steroids since patch 2.0

- Worthy mentions:
1) Resistances, namely Chaos resistance. We're not really lacking FR/LR/CR.

Cons:
1) Aside from the life roll, the rest of the stuff doesn't match up to Void.

Bottom line - Benefits of Void +1 outweigh Rare gloves imo.

I think to try this build after recent drops:

Not sure, which shield use? Find really lovely rare shield, but is it better than this unique?

Is this build worth running with a non-legacy mjölner? Also, what rolls are important when buying one? Thanks
Depends which version, but in general just pick up more Power Charges from the tree to compensate for not having a legacy Trollner. As for the rolls, look for Lightning Damage, that's all (40% is max). Still, if you can get a legacy eventually, non-legacy will take you through the game just fine. I haven't tried the very end-game content with a non-legacy Mjolner, so I can't confirm that you would be able to run it, but I think it's doable. I believe that I've read in one of the Mjolner builds out there that someone did Uber with a non-legacy Mjolner, not sure if it was deathless.[/quote]

Thanks for the answer, I managed to get a 40% lightning nonleg Mjölner. Hopefully I can upgrade to a legacy eventually. I'm going with the armor/life build as I understand it's a nice stepping stone (I have the rest of the gear, just not legacy saffels, +1 voids or legacy mjölner).

Also wondering which path to level in the three for the armor/life build. Any advice on in which order to distribute the points? Haven't seen a guideline for this in the thread...

I know its prob 2 late since you seem to have bought but the lightning roll is nearly irrelevant because the damage only effects the attack not the spells. I was wondering if it would be better to go gmp, lmp, faster attacks with non legacy foor more procs.
About leveling guides wont be there generally because mjolner is something u respec into at l65-70, i would prob go crit flame totem since the tree passes a lot of those nodes, then respec, you could use a tabula, perhaps iron will as one of the supports, if you dont have maligros you could use face breakers for more crit at a cost of 1c.

I have been playing the "original" low life rainbownuke build for quite some time. With the introduction of 2.0, that build was somewhat unsatisfactory even when I have decent gear and an es pool of 9k.

Then I tried a couple of new mjolner builds and I can say this build is by far the best (or at least for my play style, it is). This build is very well designed and balanced. I had spent a lot of time trying to improve on the tree (the MoM/EB version) but it seems flawless :). Congratulations and thanks to the authors for such a great job.

Since I am a later comer for this build, I found the +1 Voidbringer out of my reach. I can afford 20-30ex, but not 100-120ex. So this is what I have done:

a) Use same aura gem set up as official guide, that is, Enlightened 3, Purity of Fire 20/21, Purity of Lightning 20/21, Grace 20/21.

b) In order to fit all 3 auras with sufficient "Mana Reserve" (and not using an expensive Enlightened 4), we need to sacrifice 1 skill point on a 4% "Mana Reserve" node. Instead of just putting it to the "Sovereignty" cluster, I put 2 skill points to complete the "Champion of the Cause" cluster. This way, I sacrificed 2 points instead of 1, but my aura effect goes up to 28 (official guide is 22). This gets my maximum fire and lightning resist to 85%, only 1% less than using the +1 Voidbringer. With flasks, they become 98%. I do understand 98% is not as good as 99%, but for one more skill point, it is definitely worthwhile to improve those resists from 97% to 98%. Also, the increased aura effect increases Grace's Evasion Rating a bit as well.

Now we lost 2 skill points to close the gap caused by not having a +1 Voidbringer, I did this to regain 1 skill point:

a) Instead of picking "Endurance Charge" from quest reward, I picked "Power Charge". This means I can save 2 skill points from the tree (take away the 2 skill points relating to "Power Charge" on upper part of the tree).

b) I spent 7ex and bought a decent "+1 Endurance Charge" belt, with high life, strength, armor and resists (much cheaper than the 100ex Voidbringer).

c) The "+1 Endurance Charge" implicit means we sacrificed up to 35 "Strength" on the belt, so I spent 1 skill point on a +30 Strength node to compensate for that. So overall, I gained 1 skill point from this arrangement. 7ex for 1 skill point, expensive, lol.

I hope my above experience help.

On a separate note, I have these questions:

1) Is it really good to use Tempest Shield? It has a very high crit chance. While it helps in flasks recharge, it also potentially burns the Power and Endurance Charges and affects dps.

2) I linked Enhance 3 and 20/20 Increased Duration with Rallying Cry (I found this gem pretty powerful) and Blood Rage. When I am out of combat, my health and energy shield bars don't move a single inch after I activated Blood Rage. So it seems I have a free 24% increase in attack speed. But I do know that when I am in combat, es will not regenerate (apart from effect of my es gain jewels). Can anyone tell me how bad the Blood Rage damage might affect me please.

Once again, thanks the authors for this guide and I thoroughly enjoy this build. By the way, maybe I am lucky, I face tanked Malachai a few times without even moving and didn't die. All I did was standing in between Piety and Malachai, keep smashing Malachai and spamming jade and other flasks. I didn't even target and attack Piety and she died. A couple of smashes from Malachai did get my health point down to around 30-40%, but it was top up pretty much instantly by Kingsguard :)

could you post your gear and tree please Alfred , i like your description

i too am looking to play this build and not do the next 1m league

im just gathering everything together now ,, and interested in some ideas

My tree is identical to the official guide except I took 2 points from the Power Charges nodes and put them on the Champion of the Cause cluster. I also skipped the Berserking cluster (lost 18% attack speed there) and put those 3 points on +30 Strength, +30 Intelligence, and 8 Attack Speed on Quest Reward. Since I am only Level 95, I am 5 points short of the guide. As I treasure survivability more than dps, I skipped all 5 Spell Power points from the Witch starting point.

You only need Enlighten 3 to fit all 3 auras. I incidentally have an Enlighten 4 and put it there. Also, you don't need Level 21 Purity of Fire and Lightning cause without +1 Voidbringer, Level 20 and 21 gem give the same +4 max resist. (+1 Voidbringer gives +5 max resist plus 22% aura effect which gives another +1 max resist totalling 6. Our normal Voidbringer gives +4 max resist and our 28% aura effect gives another +1 max resist totalling 5).

This is a reasonably easy to follow build as the only 3 items we got left to play around with are the belt, the boot and one ring. Priority is to firstly fulfill attribute requirements, then life and resists, then whatever you like afterwards. I prefer somewhat higher accuracy and a bit of chaos resistance, so I choose to have these on my gear and sacrificed 2 skill tree nodes to fulfill my attribute requirements, one for +30 intelligence and one for +30 Strength. These are minor fine tuning as we all have different play style and preference. Whichever way you choose to fine tune this build, as long as you don't deviate from the core of it, I think this build will work well. Have fun.

I would appreciate comments on my setup so I might further improve it.
