Why not allowing duplicate names at first hand?!
Since open beta i hate searching a name that is not already been taken. I am a petty-fat-dumbass-Kid. So please listen to my unwanted oppinions!

hehe, I just got this news on facebook.
well, for me, I stopped playing a long time ago just because of the stupid "name already exists" thing. sometimes I do reinstall and log in; try to make a char and end up wasting 20-30min. on the name already exists screen, then alt f4 go play something else. |

i delete ripped chars and rotate between about 4 names , you shall not have them!

This is just a band-aid. The only way to really fix the naming problem is to allow duplicate names. If you free old names now all good names will be taken again in two month and we end up in the same situation. It might be heretic to say this in a path of exile forum, but diablo 3 handled character names A LOT better than path of exile.
